Orange is the new grey...When we moved my mother in law into the Waterford 2 years ago, we were absolutely impressed about the quality of service, the quality of the meals and the absolute dedication of the staff.
All things changed gradually since the acquisition by Sienna, to the point that now this is no longer a place I feel good about my decision.
Having dinner the other day in the dining room with my in law, listening to the other tables and conversation amongst of other residents I was shocked at some of the comments. Never mind the fact that the food served was less than a inner-city juvenile wayward home (bare edible by my dog) , when the residents complained about the food being cold, they were told that they should "hurry along and eat faster". When asked for a second cup of tea, I thought that the staff reaction was an olympic presentation of eye rolling competition.
One resident clearly described my visit best: "next thing dear, they will dress us in orange jumpers". This is not what we signed up to pay for.
