My mother has been at terrace on the square for quite some time. She enjoys the numerous activities, the varied food choices, and finds the staff attentive and helpful. She also finds most of the residents very pleasant as well. As she ages we find the staffs concern helpful in keeping her aware of the various activities and in dealing with any of her concerns. A good place for her.

Our business Heart of the Matter/Senior's Move has worked with Chartwell Terrace on the Square for many years helping to move seniors into their new home. Amanda and staff have always been welcoming, friendly and accommodating in every way. The resident spaces are well organized to suit a variety of needs. We look forward to connecting with the staff and residents each time we are in the retirement residence.

My wife and I have lived at Terrace on the Square for 4 years. We have a two room residence; a bedroom suitable for two single beds and a comfortable living room. The staff here maintain the cleaning each week. The dining room is always pleasantly maintained and has a variety of meal options. For entertainment, regular games are supervised by staff and musical programs are also available. There are regular fitness classes and different activities to keep you active. The nursing staff are available 24/7 and provide excellent health advice. A doctor is available each week and appointments can be made through the nursing staff. We really enjoy living in Up Town Waterloo, and being in a location that is accessible to so many things.

I transfered from another Chartwell home, and have been very happy with the Chartwell community. I love living in this location, it is close to many shops, and is easily accessible for my friends and family to visit. The Nursing staff here are very cheerful and friendly. They are always there to help when I need it, any time of the day. They always greet me with a smile and take the time to talk to me. The service in the Dining Room is good, and the Serving Staff take the time to get to know my preferences. I also get the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. I enjoy the programs that are offered, and the chance to keep active. There are nice lounge spaces, where you can watch the hustle and bustle of King St., and there is a nice patio to sit on in the warmer weather.

I think this place needs a big shake up. There are no programs happening, and while they say it's because they have no one. Management has staff off on leave, then you have plans. There lacks a real community here. My grand mother is here, and her feeling of home has diminished. We would like to move her, but moves and changes are hard on her. As a family, we don't recommend this place until major changes happen in how they make some changes. Also, my grand mother had been there for 2 heating and air conditioning breakdowns. Her one bedroom has windows with condensation, and she was told by GM-lots of windows need to be replaced. The nurses and PSW-without them-we wound move her in a heart beat.
