We moved my 92 year old father to Barclay House in North Bay 10 months after my Mom passed away. We did not want to move him there as none of us 6 children lived in North Bay anymore but that is where Mom was buried and he wanted to move back. It was the BEST thing we cold have done. He was in a larger retirement facility with not enough time for the staff to get to know everyone. From the minute we walked in everyone greeted us and knew my Dad's name. The GM Marisa Zarifa and the Health and Wellness Manager, Leah-Anne Chirico are never too busy to help out with the smallest things. So simple as going to my Dad's room to hang up his phone when he forgets to. My Dad raves about the food every day and we know how important food is when you get older. All the staff is fantastic and I believe because it is a smaller place (65 residents) they have time to really care. Whenever I call I am always greeted with a cheerful person and nothing is ever too much trouble. If you are worried about whether or not you should put your loved one in Barclay House, I would not hesitate it is a fantastic place with fantastic staff!!!

In the fall of 2015, we moved my father to Barclay House in North Bay. Barclay House, with a resident population of approximately 65, was about half the size of his previous retirement residence and turned out to be proof that smaller can be, and in our case, was better. The home itself is one level, easy access and warm and inviting. Residents have a variety of programs they can participate in (exercise classes, crafts, special events at holiday times during the year, church services, entertainment, shopping, etc.). The Dining Room is inviting and well appointed. Linen tablecloths and napkins. Meals are excellent. Food plentiful and well presented. Alternative choices if not happy with what the special of the day is. There is also an open snack/coffee area in the dining room that is available to all residents throughout the day where they can help themselves. What struck me most was their staff. ALL STAFF know the residents by their first name and they are always addressed by name. They are all friendly, caring and patient and nothing is too much trouble. Residents health and care are their priority and they maintain high standards. There is a feeling of 'Family' here. My father refers to Barclay House as HOME. It was a good choice for him and his family is happy knowing he is well looked after and happy in his Home.

This company does not want to let me put an add for people with their moms and dads and to spend time with them feeding them or even taking them for a walk reading them stories they said no and hang the phone on me i wouldn't want to put my mom there if i didn't have time to spend time with my mom i would hire someone to do so but this one dont let you do that at all
