My mom was in a 90 day convalescence at this residence and we could not have asked for better care for her! Although the building is a bit old, the staff, from doctor to nurses to therapists, to coordinators, PSWs and miscellaneous staff were warm, caring, and very friendly. She was very comfortable, and she is one tough cookie to please! This place convinced her that nursing homes are not as bad as she thought they would be. If it was not too far from us, we would have considered it for her future long term care. Thank you to all the wonderful staff!

I found this location to be so badly in need of so many updates. Nothing like the commercial I saw on the tv! I could hardly wait for my family member to get out of here. It needs a real good clean and how about new bedspreads!

This facility was initially built in 1975, (Mill Street side) with a newer wing added later, so the older wing is more cramped and reflects the era in which it was built. However, it is the staff that "make or break" any organization, and Aurora Chartwell is defined by its staff. Whether they be PSW's, RN's, RPN's, orderlies, dietary and laundry personnel, administrators, social workers, occupational therapists or medical doctors, everyone is resident centred. Residents are spoken to often, and with respect, and activities are planned and outlined to families. A Family Council meets regularly where presentations are given and concerns and new ideas are addressed. A calendar of events is distributed monthly and electronic communication is used wherever possible, facilitating quick and easy updating regarding future events. The facility is clean - nurses are diligent and the cleaning staff is thorough. A sense of pride is evident. I am writing this after five months of experience with Chartwell Aurora, as a family member lives there, and I am most impressed and satisfied, with the staff and its involvement, the administration and its vision, and, last but not least, with my family member's daily experience.

The Family of the late Angelo Schiafone would like thank to the Nurses, Personal Care Workers for their kindness and respect shown at all times during the most difficult ordeal. Our Dad was cared for with dignity and respect and it is a tribute to all the hard work you all do. The wonderful staff at Chartwell Aurora have all helped and made our loss more bearable. Although we do not have the names for all the staff members, we would like to acknowledge the following wonderful people: Ms. Shannon Ms. Arubia Mr. San Ms. Marile Ms. Eunice Ms. Loreen Ms. Vivian Bless you all for the amazing work you do. The Schiafone Family
