Hired as a PSW and went through orientation and training. On the first day of my training, the staff on the floor was surprised to see me there and asked me if I was sure that was the right floor for me to be trained and looked at me in a weird way. They didn't have any information on who was supposed to orient and/or train me on that day. During my training shifts, the staff were walking in front of me very fast and leaving me behind following them and sometimes wondering where they were. The staff on my floor was not friendly and cooperative at all and sometimes rude. If I would approach them for a conversation and a question, they would respond in a quick way, otherwise they would treat me as if I was not even there. They are always short in staff and the full-time ones have to work overtime almost everyday and at the end of the day they get over tired and exhausted and are miserable with co-workers. Poor organization within the floor and it can become a chaos when short in staff. On the last two days of my training, the staff expected me to know everything about the job leaving me alone on the floor and not answering the phone when I was calling for help. They were showing me that the fact that I was there being trained and trying to learn the job appropriate and carefully was a bothersome to them and making rude comments about my performance instead of making a positive criticism and be patient with me knowing I was a brand new employee still being trained. Some of the staff wouldn't even look at my face, never mind greet me or acknowledge my presence on the floor. The staff on my floor made me feel that I didn't belong there and made sure to let the management know about it. It was a bad experience for me as a new employee in the company. The staff expected me to have the same speed with the hands on the job and knowledge of the residents and the job routine in a matter of a few days comparing to them that have been working there for many years full-time. The management was okay implying if I ever had any issue to talk to them, but didn't give me a chance to do so. I understand I was not perfect during my training, but unfortunately, the staff was not pleasant and helpful either. The full-time staff want the job just for themselves and don't mind to work 13 or more hours a day and over ten days in a row without taking a day off. At least on the floor that I worked. I mean it's up to you if you want to work there. Maybe on the other floors it is a better environment to work.

My grandparents had a room here in assisted living. They (and their family) found the facilities and staff excellent.

The workers here are all tired and over worked I feel so bad for them and the residents. My mother is so sad and wants to move out.

Mom stayed in village and assisted living. Incredible caring and support - super programs, kind loving staff and great food - mom was happy there.

My father was here. The staff does not care about any of your concerns. Several times there was not even anyone to be found on the floor. They did not exercise him regularly as per my request nor did they dress him. Several of his clothes went missing and his glasses. None of my concerns were ever addressed. I would not recommend this home to anyone, They have a large turnover of staff which is hard on all.
