We had out grandpa in here for a month until we walked in and seen one of the staff walking past us with his slippers. I followed the nurse to the nursing station where she put them in her purse. They were new slippers we got grandpa for Christmas. Theft is common in this place same with abuse

Some of the staff are caring and competent, I’ll give them that, but the ones who aren’t are awful. I watched as two PSWs almost dropped my medically fragile mother on the floor because they didn’t secure her in a lift properly. Countless times had to ask staff to come and clean my mom up because I arrived to find her left laying in her own soiled pants. They ‘park’ residents in the tv room and then call it the cemetery. When my mother was literally dying (I’m talking within 30 minutes of her passing) while she’s gasping for breath and her body is shutting down one of the nurses came in to ask us about which funeral home we were using and who would be picking up her remains, and reminding us that we had 48 hours to clean out her room. No respect whatsoever. It was disgusting. When we came back to pack up her things, staff had “cleaned out” all of her expensive hair care products and trashed whatever they didn’t want. Management doesn’t care what the staff do because they can’t afford to lose anyone.

if I could give this place a negative star rating I would. They list ostomy care on their website but have none of the supplies or knowledge to actually change an ostomy bag. They leave people sitting in soiled diapers just parking them in front of the tv to be for gotten about and when a resident has the ability to speak up and advocate for themselves they are told to wait until the staff have had their breaks. The food is cold and is portioned in tiny servings while the staff walk out with "left overs" The place may look nice on the surface but if you care at all for a loved one this isn't the place for them.

Excellent Staff in the Daisy wing! My mother was admitted a year ago and she can't say enough good things about the people helping her. I am always welcomed day or night to visit, I feel at ease knowing my mother is living there. She is safe, comfortable and above all, Happy!! I feel blessed my mother resides at Westmount Gardens, it truly is a great place!!

They treat mom with respect and very attentive to her needs. On the other hand when it comes to visiting her that is a different story. When I go up everything is fine, but when my husband comes to see her with me not so good. I call and make the appointment, no problem. When we get there they ask him for proof of the vaccines, which is on his cell phone. He has never been asked until today. He never brings his cell phone. It seems to me they change the policy when ever they want to. I will be calling administration on Monday.
