Elliot Lake Retirement Living

Have been living here since November 2015, the area we are in is great the down side is trying to get retirement living to do maintain things that need to be done. My husband became ill and asked for a ramp so he could get in and out of the house and was told No so if you are retired and move here don't get sick! Unfortunately my husband passed away. I'm also still waiting for some repairs that need to be done going on for six months now still not done.Other than that living in Elliot Lake is wonderful.

Lived here for a year now. Elliot Lake is beautiful! However renting from Elliot lake retirement living is a nightmare. First what we were told and what it isi are on 2 different pages. Health care here is very hard to get. We were told health care was really good here. We were told they have Doctor's coming in all the time. You have to wait weeks to get in to see a doctor. So if you need health care. Look elsewhere. We have been trying to get are front stairs. Fixed since May they were really bad all winter, but it was winter so we had to wait. We were told in May. When they got the measure of the stairs. It would be six weeks and they would be fixed. They gave us a notice telling when they were coming in. Came in a week before they said. Ripped out the stairs. Ruin part of are lawn. Put yellow tape over the door. Said they would be back next week. Three weeks later they show up. Put cement stairs in and left. They don't fit there is a gap. 2 people have been hurt by this. Came back put dirt down. Where the killed the grass. Which was full of rocks. Told they be back with sod the next week. Once again didn't show up or call. Came with grass seed. We were told sod was coming. Then they came to put the rail in on the steps. Ask why did it take so long told they just got the contract 2 weeks ago. Looked at the gap did nothing. Still waiting for this to be finished since may. Window cracked put in work order didn't hear sent email. Was told before it gets cold it will be fixed. Again still waiting. Told when we moved in driveway would be fixed in spring. They didn't say what spring. Still not fixed. Hurt twice on the driveway. They talk the talk, but they don't walk the walk. Once you move in. Good luck in getting anything done.very bad customers service, but that is only curtain people. Which I won't name. Be careful and don't move in until everything is fix. I was told that, but after I moved in. They Were right in what they said. As seniors we shouldn't have to be after management to fix things. Some people never learn. Beware. This is a update on the front porch. Time is up again. Once again we are being told. A week or so. I was told use the side door. If I think the fronts steps aren't safe. No problem if they were safe. I said we would, but have someone here to fix them by 5 before the end of the day. When we had a ambulance here. They didn't want to use the front for safety issue. So they look at the side door and had no choice but use the front. They tell you the some crap and you run into the people fixing things. They tell you a whole different story. Ask for a rent rebate since we haven't been able to use what we pay for. No money off your rent. Be smart look else. Better yet knock on doors that rent from ELRL. You will not hear a good thing about them..
