Rubidge Retirement Residence has very caring, hardworking and professional staff (Mike, Laura, Melissa, Ella, etc. etc.) If you ask for something, the answer is "yes" and they always come through with whatever it is you need. The food is very good and the staff in the dining room are very friendly and accommodating. The nurses are extremely competent and caring. My mother was in Rubidge for a three-month respite stay with moderate to severe dementia and she was very well-cared for during this time. The other residents were very kind and friendly to her as well. My family would like to thank everyone at Rubidge for the kindness they showed my mother.

My mother has been a resident for almost 4 years. The facility is most adaptable for the individual's needs. The staff is caring and professional . Good work Ella.

My Mom lived at Rubidge Hall from March 2017 - Oct 2017. If you or your loved one has mid-stage Alzheimer's, they are not properly equipped to manage the needs of someone who needs a lot of cueing and/or assistance. My Mom's bill went up substantially a few months after she moved there (by $190.00). The reason behind this was because she had to start paying for someone to come in nightly and cue her to brush teeth, etc. to get ready for bed. Prior to that she wasn't taking care of her hygiene in the evening and often was sleeping in her clothes. As a private residence, anything extra increases your monthly bill so keep that in mind. I did tell them before she moved in that she needed cueing and I wasn't told, at that time, that it would increase her monthly bill. Thankfully, a bed became available at a more appropriate facility as my Mom, who had never wandered, ended up down at the bus station at Simcoe Street. She had been gone for at least an hour with no one noticing. It was me who discovered her missing when I showed up to take her home for her weekend visit. As I said, they are just not set up to offer appropriate accommodation to folks whose needs are significant. If you or your loved one is independent, and has their wits about them, then Rubidge Hall is a perfect choice. Very comfortable with plenty of amenities on site. The food is very good and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Also, there are several residences who have pets that live there with them. Rubidge Hall's Social Director Mike is absolutely wonderful, and there are lots of activities to participate in, which make for a thriving social culture.
