The building is nice, but the facility lacks quality of care, programs, food and sense of community. Highly do not recommend.

As far as city run long-term care facilities are concerned, the Carefree Lodge is very, very good. Set against a ravine with mature maple trees makes both the grounds and the views from the dining room beautiful. Both of my parents are there and I visit them 5-6 days a week. The facilities are good, the staff are excellent; attentive and seemingly caring. There is a lot of variety of food, and is quite acceptable. I am pleased that I was able to get them into the Carefree Lodge. The waiting list can be 6-12 months or more for a room to become available, so talk to the CCAC as soon as you can. Good luck

The staff are really good people who take the time to care for my mom and others I see when I visit. The grounds are beautiful too. Nearby is Swiss Chalet, a grocery store and Bayview Village mall is one major street south. I love to come here and relax with my mom by the fountain and go for a nature walk nearby.

My mother is happy at Carefree. The staff are caring and friendly. It's a nice intimate environment. The grounds are lovely. Overall, I am very satisfied.
