Page 3 Sharing the Experience
( last sentence of page 2. ..... She said flat out no. )
I said to her I have a room full of witnesses at the Doctor's office where 4 of us were complaining about our memory. We can't remember with all that's going on in our lives. She again said no.
I was in such a shaken state Did not have the wherewithal to respond. If I had malicious intent why did I not hide what I was doing? All I wanted was their help to get Ron on walks, participating, and making a friend. Perhaps a PSW he could get to know and talk to. A PSW that might take Ron for a walk 4 days a week, if not everyday in a perfect world. No one else on the floor could carry the most minor conversation. He had no one to talk to. I was hopeful.
I did not want to move Ron because he had grown accustomed to some of the PSW.
ED Danielle is not able to put herself in someone else's shoes. In addition through osmosis her RPN etc is thinking her method is normal, acceptable behaviour.
On another note I will take a moment to tell you about Ron and myself.
First Ron and I successfully ran a business for over 40 years blessed with repeat clients.
I also raised 200,000.00 for the Shaver Hospital Healing Garden.
I launched and developed it in 9 months. The community really stepped up to the plate and got involved in supporting the Shaver Hospital. It was a profound experience for me to have people show up to help, people to support the vision.
People like me, hopeful and optimistic. We believe in the goodness of community and people. We believe in volunteering, we believe people working in senior homes mean well.
We believe things can be improved if we take the time to share information. We hope for empathy. We accept even baby steps in improvements. We live in hope and good will.
More recently I, not anyone else, managed and built our house.
Do you really think that if I had malicious intent to record I couldn't achieve that? I was still hopeful attending that meeting. I wanted the best for Ron and hoped they would care.
I still believed things could be improved.
ED Danielle has no empathy. If she had empathy she would have had Ron's care in mind. Not only that, she would have cared about my horrific journey. Barely alive and trying to care for others at the same time. Trying to be pleasant giving the PSW the benefit of the doubt. Their intent good. For whatever reasons they have not been able to care for Ron the way they would like. Is this management? There is not enough time per patient. The protocols are not being followed up on. Another time for detailing this.
What wld your Ambassador Kori have to say about this? Did Kori read the 2 google reviews I came across while looking for Henley house number. One complained about the lack of care for lost articles that were important to them. Same experience. No one responds.
The other complained about the new people in charge. The comment 'they are as bad as the previous people in charge.'
The light came on. I was not the only caregiver that was disappointed with Henley House.
Tracey you are Managing Director. I thought you were the change.
Still live in hope for change.
Update on the meeting. Rons blanket, given to him as a gift, went missing almost immediatley. I wrote often and sent pictures. In our last meeeting where ED Danielle and MD Tracey apologized and said they were taking steps to improve.
They said thay would send money for the blanket. Under 50.
Its not about the money but to show us they really care.
Today, approximatley 4 months later, I have still not received an e about the blanket.
I walked out believeing they really cared but is the lack of follow through on the blanket a window into what Henley House really is? Do they really care? I hope so. I hope they made changes.
