I took care of my father for 20 years and always went to see him and for the last 2 years my father started to complain about the place and he was been neglected so many times asking for help. And when he told me that the Nurses wanted my father to pay an extra $500 a month to look after him. He was close to paying $4,000 a month. He also complained to the head people but no one cared. When I went to see my father I spoke with a nurse and she told me herself she and a few others took a few days before they went to help my father with problems so that is called neglect to take care of a person. And when my father got a cold a week later they gave him Tamaflu and when I spoke to him he said he did not understand why they gave him 2 tabs. The next day they found him on the floor. They did not bother to see if he was ok when they gave that to him. It took them over an hour to call me that he went to welland hospital. He told me and the retirement home if something should happen to him make sure he goes to Niagara Falls. In my opinion they neglected to take care of my father and now they are trying to cover up and also the nurses are trying to say they don't have my contact information. The office and Nurses have my number and Email to contact me in case an Emergency. And they still are trying to say I did not see him for years. Everyone in the building knew I was his son who saw him all the time. Even the cleaning staff knew who I was. In my opinion I would not bother with this place. So many had to leave as it cost to much. And my father and I talked about him leaving seasons as it was costing way to much and for both of us to get a place like a 2 bedroom for me to look after him as he had only 10 months left on his contract and I would be moving back to look after him, but then this happens to him. My opinion something sure was going on with this retirement home. My father said when they changed everything 2 years ago things just went down hill. And some of the pictures they have on the website are from other retirement homes that they have.
