Facility smells of urine and feces. Staff are rude and do not wear their name tags properly. Patients are not changed regularly according to their care plan. Staffing is constantly short which affects the quality of care the patients receive. Staff is unresponsive to family questions and more importantly the patient questions. Faculty should not be allowed to operate until up to full code. Hopefully the State is monitoring this facility and holding the staff and leadership accountable.

Grim, with a nice lobby. I knew two residents, and a recent, highly educated, medical employee. The employee left because the facility lacked basic medical supplies to prevent disease on each floor, and the prevailing attitude was to go without, rather than change the system. For example, gloves weren't available to staff on each floor and workers would go without rather than go down a floor. The system should be set up to make this easy, not challenging, as medical errors are a leading cause of death in the US. It will be an uphill battle for any new management. The staff were cheery and polite when I visited, but residents were sobbing and not attended to or comforted while I was there. It felt grim. The upper floors and activity rooms are not at all updated like the lobby.

Beautiful place to work...I've just started here but feel a home enviroment. Every rehab/nursing home has there issues but this place is in middle of a big change for the better & excited to be a part of a big happy change :)

I'm the new Director Of Nursing at Emerald North located down the street from Emerald South. We have New administration. We are up and coming. The philosophy at Emerald North is Love Warmth and Safety focusing around the Residents. I'm so proud of all my staff for hanging in there through this transition. I'm so proud of my Nurses, CNAs, housekeeping laundry maintenance dietary MDS NP Activity and secretarial staff. Most of all I thank all the residents for sharing their home with us. Its a Great place to work.
