Great facility in a convenient location. Caring and helpful staff!

Dec 18, 2017
The facility is horrible. It is dirty, the equipment and beds are from the 1950's are and terribly uncomfortable for patients. Some of the staff members were compassionate and talented. It is a sad, sad place for those that do not have the money to be in a decent place to live or die.

My Mother was a resident at what was formally Sheridan Manor in 2014 for rehab. It was a horrible place and I had her removed from there as soon as I could. The care was horrible and so was the building. Fast forward to 2017. I had to to put my mother into a rehab and the only one that was available was now Safire Of the Northtowns. We were in tears thinking we were going to that awful place again. I went in there the first day and with my mother and saw nothing had changed. We got there on the weekend. I had conversations with the powers that be and told them about the experience a few years ago and was assured that things are changing because of new owners. I had a meeting with them and told them that I would like nothing more than to have them change my mind of the level of care that she is receiving. I have to tell you that since my mother has been there (which is over 3 months now) the care has been for the most part excellent. The employees that weren't working up to the facilities standard were dismissed. The employees are attentive and are taking good care of my mother. The rehab (physical and occupational therapy department) are very good. I have been impressed with the good changes in this facility since I have been coming here. I would no longer tell people to not come to this facility because the care is terrible. It has come such a long way from where it was since the new owners took over. I have also observed that not only do they care for my mother properly (you might think it's because I go see her everyday) but I watch them care for the other residents as well. I know that there is more improvements needed and they are working to fix the issues as they come up. The facility is old and I have been told that they are going to start to improving the building and I have seen the housekeeping has improved so much since I have been coming as well. I now feel that a 4 star rating is what this facility deserves. As the other improvements happen I feel certain that it will gain a 5 star rating.

My Mom was there twice , and both times the Nursing Staff and Therapists where great to her and very helpfull to Me and My Family. The only down side (the reason for 4 stars) was the interior is in need of a major modern update.
