At first we had some reservations about having to put grandma in a home but from the very second we walked through the front doors this place is so lovely & cozy & the staff so friendly & welcoming we knew we'd made the right choice!

Just moved my mother into River Road. I was very impressed with the property, very clean, nice staff and a welcoming environment. A great choice for anyone looking for a place for mom or dad.

I came to River Road this fall, in search of a place for my father. He's 82 now, and has limited mobility, as well as being a diabetic. We were originally looking for a place closer to the GTA, as I have a busy work schedule and wanted to have him nearby. In searching online, I found that River Road had lower prices than most of the homes I was looking at around Toronto. (Hazelton Place, The Grenadier) I`ll be honest, I was skeptical at first, seeing these lower rates. I also was wary of keeping my father so far from home. After my first visit, I realized that my fear was definitely misplaced. For the price, this place is a hidden gem. The building itself is kept very clean, and the rooms as well. (this is very important for me and my father especially) In addition to that, the single greatest thing, was the attitude of the staff. Compared to other homes, I didn`t feel like a number or just another customer, I felt like we were part of a community. The services they provide are similar to retirement homes in the GTA, including three meals prepared by the head chef (I tried the food, and it was actually really good!) fitness program (with a trainer!) and free laundry service. There is, however one negative, and the reason this place doesn`t get 5 stars. And it`s the location. This home is obviously quite far from Toronto, and about a 5 minute drive from downtown Niagara Falls. It`s definitely a good area for those who want more rest and relaxation, compared to the bustle of downtown Niagara, and the homes located there. However, talking to management, I did find out that there is a shuttle which runs from the retirement home straight to downtown. Overall, I`d consider this a great value for money as far as retirement homes go. My father has been happy for the last few months, and has made a lot of new friends at the home. It isn`t quite as convenient as a home in the GTA, but it`s significantly cheaper and offers some great services.
