Award winning Adera, completely the opposite. This is an extensive review, completely dissatisfied out of this world. I’ve been here for less than a year, and already ready to move.
These are only some problems from a list. - Grandview Location
Fire Alarm Test. Redundant fire alarms in each individual rooms and halls on top of the smoke alarms - these are usually the only ones installed in common homes. Not here. Every individual house had to be tested, since all units in the complex are connected. By the time you get to the last house, you’ve gone through 100+ units, 3-4 bedrooms +2 bathroom and (3)halls in each house. That’s 100 x 8 = 800 TIMES of constantly hearing EIGHT or more fire alarms in your house RINGING. All whilst people are at home starting their mornings. I’ve never seen or heard of this in my life, also said by the alarm guy who does this as a living.
Moving to construction, even after units were complete road was beyond inconvenient. Total cluster and mess with roads fixtures that we’re being tiled up individually by hand. The road to get out and to of our homes were closed during certain times, what an inconvenience due to a singular entrance to this large complex. They had a supposedly few weeks timeline, even though they worked beyond the timeline, Adera still managed to not complete - they left it as is. During this time, theres still unflattened roads to the point your front bumper will fall off. Some days it had a piece of plank over the large gaps, but there were days with nothing but a deep ditch. All this while supposedly having a complex completed. There’s a mid section that’s not even balanced, oh and before you drive onto the main road there’s another hill, but before that hill there’s a few inches of unflattened pavement that will probably screw up car suspensions/tires faster than usual.
Then there’s a time that our electricity died, literally for two weeks. It wasn’t that we were fully out of electricity. There were lights working and an outlet outside. But not the hot shower or stove tops/fridge worked around this time. We were getting source from an outlet outside for internet, charging, etc. A week later that the reason we’re getting half the amount of power is because there were things unplugged in their main electricity room. And the reasoning an electrician from Adera had given us was because we plugged a Vacuum in one of the sockets, and it turned off our electricity - HALF of it. A VACUUM CAUSED THAT, I’ve lived in 5-6 homes, some brand new, but this is ridiculous. An independent electrician had to correct the problem.
Response/Support during this time was unbelievably slow, this was nearing winter time too. No showers or a way to store and cook food - the most important things about a home. I don’t normally make reviews, but this place deserves to be recognized.
*UPDATE* MAR 2019
Moved out of this place before even hitting one year. They had to dig up something again after all this time, something in the front entrance of peoples garages and main entrance. When we got to look at this place the first time, those pavements were just getting put, less than a year later they broke it down and built it again for something they forgot possibly.
The funniest thing is they left out the basement windows on a few units in the front, so it didn't match the rest of the units. A few months ago they had to completely destroy the front yards for those units just to add it in. Bye.
