I agree with the other review fully I worked for them and know first hand how they cut any corner just to make a buck they are known for not living up to there standards they don't pay sub trades on time they ignore warranty work and just plain out ruin any business relationship they have with anyone Bentley homes is a sinking ship be careful people don't sign with Bentley it will be the worst mistake you can make if you don't believe me just check there bbb rating its a D- so ya bravo bentley

Gerald co-owner of Bentley Homes has been our contact since we bought our home in the Summer of 2008. It was just nearing completion of Bentleys final build but we bought it from another Bentley client that we later discovered she was so disatissfied with Bentley they decided to sell it before all the final exterior trim work was completed. Little did we know the nightmare we inherited. It started with constant daily power outages..later to find out the house was improperly wired..and had too small a panel..also the furnace/AC was way too small tonage for the house..The list of electrical, mechanical, ventilation, plumbing, windows, sinks, taps, stucco, flooring, shower door falling off, almost anythiing they installed has issues were endless...we had nothing but run around and blame game for issue after issue...I am too busy and tired of chasing Gerald and Bentley..so I will shorten my complaint since we solved most all our issues ourselves with the exception of 4 major unresolved remaining issues. The ventilation/heating system has never been able to properly heat or cool our small children i n the upstairs rooms..so we need to install fans and heaters year round..nice in a new home with new babies..#2 We had complained since the first day of a really bad foul odor in the basement near our 6 yr old sons room...we tried everything cleaned carpets several times etc...finally we ripped out the carpet and found they had carpeted right over a sewer drain in the BDR closet and did not cap it..so harmful gases and bacteria was in our new home and in our sons room. The carpet installers had already ripped up the old carpet so we continued replacing the 1 yr old carpet in the entire lower level because we thought it was soiled somehow only to learn of an open sewer? Seriously.."lets just carpet over that??" Bentley and Gerald just shrugged this off as "oh well" that shouldnt be like that? Really??? #3 Since we moved in any hard driving rain the large main living area windows have water pouring into the house..all over the blinds..floor..couch etc..Bentley has come and caulked the framing with sealant a couple times..then opened up the drywall inside to find mold damage..cut away only some of the damaged dry wall..but didnt want to open any space above the window to see where the leak was coming from? We brought in a third party Winnipeg Building and they have determined due to incorrectly installed windows they will always leak unless ripped out and resealed properly..as they have since Bentley "repaired them" #4 The Shingles on the roof were improperly installed (much the same as many other Bentley homes see CTV report) they blew off the house a and they came and hammered a few shingles up after months of back and forth with shingle supplier and Bentley playing blame game...of course more shingles flew off and we had water come into the roof and water stain our dining and kitchen area. Bentley and Gerald told us not warranty item..and they were installed inproperly...Gerald blamed high winds. I had Bison roofing look at the shingles and he said they were installed by amateurs and will not last..needs new roof..I dont believe Gerald or Bentley will rectify any of these outstanding obvious poor workmanship, sub par material and blatant incompetence issues. The amount of unreturned email/voicemails are a clear indication of what kind of business Bentley chooses to run. I am very busy person and as Gerald had hoped I lost my desire to chase proper satisfaction and choose to stop beating my head against the Bentley wall. However after hearing repeated stories of similar nightmares about Bentley and last nights CTV news of a very similar story I decided to proceed with my demand for complete satisfaction. If nothing else I can help warn other of how dishonest and weak this company truly is. One that puts profit before all, even without regard for a young families well being. What should have been the most exciting memorable experience turned into a disgusting forgetable nightmare! Bravo Bentley!
