I've been working with Jim and he has been super helpful throughout the process. Been very knowledgeable and if he doesn't know the answer has been able to ask the right person and get me an answer within the next day or two. Jim was very considerate with not being too pushy and showing me some model homes that were being built so I could see what the floor plans look like and what some other people have chosen for options. He explained all the different options that would be available and explained how the customization process would work. Also, he explained the entire build process which was very easy to understand. Currently I am building the home and so far everyone I have contacted has been very responsive and helpful. Can’t wait to continue working with Silverthorne Homebuilders and see the process of building unfold in front of my eyes.

Dealt with an under qualified salesman who had never worked for a new home building company, had zero prior experience in construction. He completely crushed our dreams of building a new home by not being honest with us. When called out on his dishonesty he said it would be best if we didn’t work together. Pretty sure we dodged a bullet with this company.

I recently purchased a home from Silverthorne, a house that was already completed. I love my home and Jim and Logan went out of their way to make some changes to the home even though it was already completed. I've built two other homes from the ground up and the construction seems very solid with great insulation compared to the other two homes I built with very large builders. Overall my experience has been great and I had a meeting with their warranty person last month who called just to see how things were going and if I had any issues. Glad to report nothing other than typical drywall pops and some paint which he assured me he would fix at our next checkup. I was asked to leave a review by Jim Dulaney of Silverthorne Builders. Jim reached out to me to ask if I would leave a review and while I don't normally do this, I felt that I should given some negative reviews I've seen on here that do not match my experience at all. Best of luck to Jim, Logan and the rest of the team as they've been splendid.

My husband and I are more than happy with our custom house we built in Sycamore, Illinois with Jim. We were looking throughout the Chicagoland area to purchase an established house with good schools. After a year and a half of looking at all of our options (viewing houses) and a meeting with Jim, we decided to go a custom build with Silverthorne and settle our roots in Sycamore. We realized we could build our very own home, exactly the way we wanted, in a beautiful neighborhood with fantastic schools and an involved community. It was exactly what we wanted and hoped for. We are 100% happy with our decision and wouldn’t have it any other way! We worked hand in hand with Silverthorne to build our dream home. They made it a reality. I can’t thank Jim and his team enough for the work they’ve done. They were patient with us and answered the many questions we had. I have been sending my friends who are interested in buying to the Silverthorne model in Sycamore to learn more about the house building process. Many of them didn’t think of building until now. My friends are grateful for Jim, the sales rep, who is friendly, honest and helpful. He has given them all the info they need to get started on their dream homes. We love our house and get many compliments on it. It’s been 5 months now and we have made many memories already. We look forward to the gatherings, parties and everyday little things that will happen between these beautifully built walls. Thank you Jim, Keith and Logan for all your help. You have no idea how much we appreciate you! We can’t thank you enough for helping turn our visions into reality. - Chanla Frederickson

This company is a low rent, predatory builder. They showed up and slam together a junk house in our neighborhood, with disregard for architectural and code requirements. All the while, lying to their customer about schedule, finishes and code requirements. Silverthorn and Jim Work exploited their customer and prayed on their lack of knowledge in dealing with a general contractor. I wouldn’t let these guys build a dog house, complete crooks. Now the residence of the home are blackballed by the rest of the neighborhood because of the experience. Stay away from these guys.
