Has been nothing but a pleasant experience. Sales people are friendly, knowledgeable and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and included in the process beyond signing the paperwork. Craftsmanship is great. With any new house there is a few errors and that is why there is a 30 day and year inspection - which was timely and complete. Customer service in regards to warranty is good - always replied to emails and concerns and have always sent a tradesman to fix any problems within a day or 2. Houses are not built by robots and machines and is crucial to understand this and be patient, nothing is perfect - this is not a Cardel only problem, you will find this with any builder. What is important is that they respond quickly and rectify the problem, and they have in my experience. In regards to grass - homes have to sit for 3+ seasons to ensure there is little ground movement when asphalt/ grass in complete. This allows for a better take to the land. They did start at the "other" end of the community but it seems as though due to the later construction, weeds had not grown there as much as was easier to grade and lay sod. Also better to have sod laid in the fall months so it will not die. Although not ideal for summer months, this was smart on Cardel's end. Buying earlier in a construction zone it is crucial to know you will be sitting in mud and dirt for a longer period of time. Streets are always clean and workers are courteous to allow you to pass on your way in and out of the community. Location itself is great as well, close to amenities and very easy access to HWY 7 to get into Ottawa. Of course there have been errors and mistakes, nothing is perfect, no wall is ever straight. All in all a great product and a great team that takes pride in their product and work, and pride in ensuring any deficiencies are attended to. All it takes is patience and understanding on both ends. You will not be disappointed.

So you want to buy a house at Cardel. Better ask yourself; do you like negligence, unorganization and super slow unintelligent responses? Here is my year in review. We bought this house October 17th 2017, brand new for +$300,000. While we were buying the house the lady sold us saying there was only 2.4 deficiencies per property. Within our first 30 days we knew that was a lie. We started upstairs the carpeting was much to be desired plenty of holes in the walls, unfinished paint, improperly installed accessories. On our main floor our Island was bowed and unlevel, because the installers installed it wrong. 6 months to REPAIR! 6 MONTHS! They had to come and fix the cupboard doors that were broken because of the negligence. That also took a month after we had to call back a month after they came because they didn't schedule the repair. Our hardwood floor is separating but apparently that is normal and they won't fix it. I installed flooring for a year that is not normal. Our front door had dents in it took them almost a year to repair, still not repaired after 4 tries and they won't replace it. They said we had a finished garage but the mud and paper job is terrible so I have to repair and teardown. For 2.4 deficiencies per house, the rest of this subdivision better be perfect. Not the case 1 couple had over 100 deficiencies, we had 70. The basement carpet you can see both seams in the floor from day 1, and they were seperating then. BUT THAT ISN'T COVERED. My suggestion, hire a better installer because EVERYONE HAS COMPLAINED! The tile in our master bathroom was crooked and unlevel. Only fixed a couple of them, and refused to do the rest. We have to live with negligence for the rest of our lives. A year in and we still don't have a yard that isn't mud and rocks. The houses that were finished 2 weeks ago have grass though. AND they are going to begin placing the fence at the other end too. The unorganization and poor management continues. I GIVE THIS COMPANY AND COMMUNITY A 1 STAR!
