The way Mattamy typically releases new homes to buyers is pathetic and disrespectful. People lining up in freezing cold for a few days so they can hand over $50k - $100K+ deposit to Mattamy to buy a house? Do they not deserve to be treated better? There are so many more humane and respectful ways to do this: invite people in sequence of registration, issue tokens and invite in the sequence of tokens. Come on Mattamy, you can do MUCH better than this. You can set an example for other builders.

Having bought many different builders previously ... I took a look again at Mattamy. Last year at the height of the market I felt their prices were bordering on gouging. Their layouts and construction seems good though. Prices still remain quite high

I've owned a few homes in my life and the home I live in now in Milton (Mattamy Homes built) is the most poorly constructed I've ever seen. The amount of corners that were cut is staggering. From outdoor furnace intake and return vents being installed backwards, to the doorbell transformer being wired up to the fire alarm, a heating duct in one bathroom not being connected to the furnace (can't fix now without tearing walls down), grout on tile floors falling apart after 3 years, Tiles floor in upstairs laundry room not to code, etc.... Luckily for me I am very handy. However most people out there are not and have to pay to have all these problems fixed. I have no idea how my home would have passed inspection during construction unless Mattamy Homes has somehow found a loop hole in the system. I have many neighbours who have many, or similar issues to me. My advice is, if you can, avoid buying a Mattamy Home at all costs. If you have no choice, please get a good (trusting) home inspector to do a thorough inspection before you buy, and be ready to do a lot of work after you purchase. Mattamy homes only cares about volume now, no longer about quality. Its shameful. This is the biggest investment a family will make in their entire lives and Mattamy Homes is cheating them out of what they paid for and deserve.

Went into the location and did not even receive a salutation... walked around the presentation center for 10 minutes, was not approached, and left... the presentation center itself was decently organized (giving the 2 stars instead of 1)
