~ Testimonial ~ Dr. Cherie Yanke, Audiologist – Hear Joy Audiology Centres Post-concussion with head trauma, some brains of individuals are unable to filter and or process noise properly - which I discovered later as I didn’t know what I didn’t know. Therefore I was not connecting concussion to hearing issues right away which was why I was unable to immediately determine my audio-deficit issues until ‘after’ being exposed and discovering through these noisy environments which caused my ongoing lingering pain and concerns from this common, yet not well known TBI audio-sensitivities. Was so thankful and finding out exactly why ‘after’ my exceptional experience at Dr. Yanke’s medical clinic - with my objective for seeing an Audiologist to have an exam and obtaining a diagnosis to determine what exactly was going on with my hearing and audio-sensitivities. Was able to schedule my initial audio-assessment quickly. Medical office was located in an accessible location, easy to find. Reception staff pleasantly welcomed me into a clean sun-lit waiting area, that I recall wasn’t even a 5-min wait to see the Dr. Dr Yanke warmly introduced herself which set a pleasant comfortable tone for the entire professional appointment. It was refreshing that Dr Yanke took time and consideration for patiently listening and capturing my audio-issues, which I wasn’t even certain how to effectively describe or explain to her. I found it useful to describe it in writing at home, to efficiently better remember and share. Throughout the assessment in the comfortable exam room, Dr. Yanke continued to respond with clear communication explaining to me with clarity to easily understand as her efficient processes’ during examination occurred seamlessly and in a timely manner. It is easy to say that I found my evaluation relaxing because Dr. Yanke was competent in her communications and actions during entire process of my hearing exam. It was another pleasant experience post-diagnostics when Dr. Yanke invited me into her office where she immediately showed me the analysis results that provided entire details of her findings that she had identified and determined my audio issue and for middle ear issue a referral to an E.N.T. Specialist to further investigate findings. I am so happy and thankful that Dr. Yanke was even able to resolve my painful hearing sensitivities to noise caused by the concussion and with my ongoing sleep disruptions by recommending ‘Sleep Molds.’ Which are custom-made for each individual taking only a 15-min appointment for ear impressions done in her clinic and then sent to manufacture for 2-week return of relief with my very own form-fitted hearing protection that are ideal for providing discreetly and comfortably quiet for: sleeping, reading, traveling and anywhere quiet is desired. I truly appreciated, respected and valued that Dr. Yanke was genuinely interested and incredibly personable to interact with during the entire consult. From my experience with Dr. Yanke I would personally without any hesitation highly recommend her for your Audiology assessment or hearing assistance and providing audio-solutions to experience for yourself this trusting medical relationship with a knowledgeable Hearing Healthcare Professional Practitioner providing service excellence. Cherie has leading edge technology, and combines it with demonstrated expertise, an excellent manner, and 1st quality products. Resound GN are world leading aids, mine work great, and should I need adjustments they are an email or a phone call away. Cherie also helped me through the tedious and complicated process of getting my work history from the government, and forwarding it to WCB for a happy outcome.
