There are a few things about first aid "Winnipeg" that are important to know before you purchase your training: 1) Despite "Winnipeg" being in the title, the manual is printed in Alberta (St Mark James Training) and the resources listed are for that province. No Winnipeg resources were included at all. Compared to the Canadian Red Cross manual, the manual they provided us with has very few images to accompany the instructions. This is less than ideal if you are a visual learner or have not taken first aid previously and do not know the steps for wound care, burn treatment, etc. I have attached photos of both manuals. 2) If you have any trouble finding the building or need to contact someone by telephone, you are dealing with a company that is not in the city and potentially a call centre. You may or may not get through on your first call and the person you are speaking to has never been anywhere near your location. This poses a variety of communication challenges for both the paying client and the instructor who consistently needs to call the company to find information out. 3) This company is offering free first aid equipment (specifically, masks) to any student who is willing to write a "good review" on Google. Essentially, they offer a bribe for a good review (to be written on the spot). This is problematic and means you should be critical of any glowing reviews you read here. 4) The classes are mixed, meaning that people who have years of first aid experiences and are re-certifying are in the same class as people who have zero experience with the content. This poses challenges in that the instructor I had assumed a lot of previous knowledge. Minimal demos and opportunities for practice were given. Much of the information was treated as review. This class is best for someone who is familiar with the content and simply looking to re certify quickly for work requirements. I would not recommend it for first time first aiders nor English as a Second Language clients.

Stephen was awesome!! Normally I would doze off during lectures in school but in his CPR HCP class, despite being HOURS long, it kept me alert and interested in what we're learning. Would definitely go back when re-certification time comes

Instructor was great. I was also there for fit testing and the experience is great. My only problem is the building. I have to walk around the building trying each entrance door just to get in but everything is locked, so I called your number and it seems like the agent is not sure where “Osborne” is so she said she will let the instructor know and to call me back to help me to get into the building. I never got a call back! I was outside freezing cold while standing in front of one of the back doors and I have to wait for someone to get out of the building so I that could sneak in. Those wooden stairs are scary as well going to 3rd floor. I just hope there is an easier access to the building especially if the room is at the third floor and can’t phone directly the instructor. Overall, I would definitely come back because getting scheduled for what I needed is very convenient and instructors are knowledgeable.

Chantel was a very good instructor. She was very nice and had great explanations for those who needed a more in depth explanation. She demonstrated very well and made sure everyone understood each topic. Would highly recommend especially for the price of the CPR course!

I have had both Stephen and Nicole as mask fit and CPR instructors- both very lively, personable, and possessing detailed knowledge of their trade. In addition, they were both very funny and made class a treat to learn. Highly recommend-will always utilize their resources.
