I have worn hearing aides for six year that I purchased from another hearing aide firm. The entire 6 years the hearing aides didn't fit correctly and had to be constantly repaired and refitted and still I could not hear that well with them. With the expertise of the Alabama Hearing Associates (Jan Liles) I am back in the hearing world for the first time since being diagnose with hearing loss (6 years ago) and it's wonderful. I can enjoy being out in a noise restaurant with friend and family and be able to participate and understand the conversation around the table. Also, I can talk on the phone and hear and understand what the caller is saying without asking them to constantly repeat what they have said. The hearing aids which Dr. Jan recommended and programmed for me are perfect. Dr. Jan was efficient and personable during the process of fitting my hearing aids. Everyone at Alabama Hearing Associated are very friendly and helpful. I heartily recommend Alabama Hearing Associates

Before seeing Dr. Sheehy I had been almost deaf in one ear for many years. She informed me this was also degrading the hearing in my "good" ear and fitted me with two hearing devices. My hearing is now significantly improved. I found Dr. Sheehy to be very thorough in her examination of my hearing and very helpful and patient in her explanations. I am very happy with her assistance in achieving these results.

I've learned a lot about hearing aids since I decided to purchase one. I found out that there are many fantastic technologies available, but you don't want to just buy one like a piece of merchandise. It takes a knowledgeable audiologist to understand each person's needs and then (1) determine which technology is best for each person... we are all different and (2) to understand how to set up and adjust the hearing aid to optimize the technology to each person's needs. I was blessed to find Dr. Jan Liles at Alabama Hearing Associates. She is extremely competent, understands all of the technologies available, stays current on new innovations and has the patients and expertise to customize these devices to individual needs. Her ability to fine tune the hearing aids is remarkable! I have friends with the same hearing aids, but different doctors and they cannot come close to hearing as clearly or as well as I do now after Dr. Liles carefully tuned my hearing aids. I highly recommend Dr. Liles and know that you will feel the same. To summarizes... I do not think you will ever find anyone better. She is smart, has a great personality, she is caring and takes as much time as needed to custom fit these hearing devices to our special needs.

I have been seeing Dr Susan Sheehy for almost 5 years now and have received outstanding care and service. At the time I was newly diagnosed with hearing loss, it created many difficulties in my work environment as a busy advanced-practice nurse. Susan took great care to be sure that all the settings and features of my hearing aids worked to my best advantage, and I could not have been more pleased. I recently required an update of my hearing aids. I am now working in an even more challenging noise-filled hospital unit, struggling to hear critical phone conversations and sounds amidst the background noise of constant conversation and alarms. I decided to upgrade my Phonak products to the Phonak V. After one day of trial, I was so astonished at the profound difference, I did not want to go back to the old hearing aids. Background noise is diminished, softer voices are more easily heard, and the capability of the device to "stereo" a phone conversation to both ears is incredibly convenient. Music intonation is more precise, and I notice I am not having to turn up the volume as much on the radio since I am hearing the sound more purely. There is no "feedback" hum or squeak. If there is anyone who feels that the extra "bells and whistles" advertised with the higher-end units are not worth the extra cost, I would say that you should reconsider. If you work in a challenging environment, please give them a try and you will be convinced that the technology in the system is everything they describe. Thank you, Susan, for all the time and concern for my hearing needs that you have provided for me over the past few years. I highly recommend this practice to anyone with hearing challenges!
