I got my hearing aids 3 years ago in Austin. I have worn them a less than 10% of the time than I should, because my ear canals itched incessantly when I wore them. I tried several suggestions from my previous provider, but nothing helped. Kelly Sheffield, the Hearing Instrument Specialist I saw, asked lots questions about my hearing aid experience. She then administered a hearing test. If I was an I-phone user, a new set would give me a myriad of blue-tooth options, not so with an android phone, which I use. The basic change would be better quality hearing (not if I can't wear them). I was a bit iffy on new aids, after all I had barely worn the old ones. She said she understood my dilemma. She told me about a product that would likely solve the itch issue, Miracell, which I bought on the way out. I went to my truck, used the Miracell, and continued wear the old hearing aids for 14 hours, (longer than I had ever worn them). I have mild-moderate hearing loss in one ear and moderate-severe in the other. Not hearing well has changed my life over the last few years. I look forward to becoming myself again. All because Kelly listened and gave me a simple, but life changing solution. I will be sending friends and returning when I NEED new aids.
