I was leery of hearing aids for a long time but after my wife kept telling me I need to go get my hearing checked, I saw an ad in the LA Times and took Sonus up on their offer for a free consultation and hearing test. At the end of the session I met with Layla at the 19th & Wilshire location in Santa Monica and she was GREAT!! She worked with me and addressed my concerns which included being self-conscious about the way hearing aids might look on me and, of course, the cost. She didn’t try to hard sell me on anything. I left with all the info after telling Layla I would mull everything over. About a month later I received an email or call from Layla giving me a heads up on a once-a-year “open house” Sonus was having at the Wilshire location and that on that day an additional discount would be made available to me. It was 2-3 weeks away but after giving it considerable thought I booked an appt. to have a follow up consultation with Layla at the Open House. I ended up receiving additional info. including several choices of hearing aids (models, colors, etc.) and best of all a DEEP discount that I just couldn’t ignore. She also took care of all communications with my insurance company to make sure I receive maximum reimbursement from them for my hearing aids. Today, after purchasing my new hearing aids a few months ago, I am elated with their performance and price....AND Layla has taken such good care of me on my follow-up appts where she asks several questions and has continuously gone above and beyond to get my hearing aids tuned up perfectly! For instance, my hearing aids have a small button on the back each one. The button on the right changes the volume up/down if I so desire. But what’s really amazing is the button on the left hearing aid has 4 separate settings which can be customized by Layla/Sonus. Mine are set as follows...1) Main settIng which gives me unique hearing ability with respect to my wife’s rather soft and high-pitched voice. It works wonderfully...ask her!! 2) Custom set to maximize my listening pleasure with respect to music. I’m a huge music fan and musician so this setting is extremely important to me and is available at the touch of a button. I can’t tell you how happy I am with this setting right now! I’m hearing subtle nuances in the music I listen to that I wasn’t hearing before and, once again, it’s great!!! 3) Custom set just today for TV listening. I’ll be trying it out later today to see how it sounds. 4) Custom set for when I’m in a small and possibly noisy public place like a restaurant or similar where there’s a lot of ambient noise and I want to have additional help hearing and caring on a conversation one-on-One with the person sitting at the same table as me or in close proximity to me. I want to, once again, give a shout out to Layla and the wonderful staff at Sonus in Santa Monica. You and your wonderful product have been a blessing to me!! Thank You So Very Much!!
