Wow! True professionals fitted my husbands new hearing aids just perfectly!!!! Gave us honest advice on their care. Made the visit both educational and enjoyable!!!

Although the hearing aids I've received are fine, the billing, insurance and office follow up has been dreadful. I was told by them that my insurance would not cover so I paid in full. However, come to find out, my insurance has covered a portion, but receiving the money back from Hearing Science center has been a challenge. It has been since October and I am still owed hundreds of dollars back that my insurance has paid them. And there has been little follow up by the dr office. Very frustrating process.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY: Audiologist Valerie Fitzgibbons Hearing Science of Walnut Creek and of University of Northern Colorado 1993 and Wichita State University 1996 (per their own web site) is an unprofessional practitioner and flat out a piece of garbage. During my father's appointment, I asked while she was working on some equipment about the cleaning procedure for it as I wanted to ensure whatever would be put into my father's ear was already disinfected. Instead of simply answering the question, she literally responded by first stating like a pompous, insecure child, 'I am a licensed audiologist and aware of proper hygiene' and proceeded to try to mock me by saying that wire wasn't going to be inserted in my father's ear, unlike equipment done so in prior visit. I calmly told her I wanted to ask as my GP cleans equipment in FRONT of us and was it not something I was allowed to ask? Maybe in fact Fitzgibbons doesn't know all about proper procedures as she believes and thinks trying to intimidate clients into silence is professional or effective. Furthermore if this 'person' bothered to even read current news, it is well documented how many accidental infections are spread by doctors nurses etc. due to error, negligence, and more. Truly a piece if garbage when I asked a question I was entitled to ask and when a simple answer could have been given (Yes, we clean it during X. Finished) instead of a lecture and attitude trying to keep patients from asking any questions. Filing a complaint with both 1) American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and 2) American Academy of Audiology as others with valid issues should do. Hope next time this 'person' tries to get a financial transaction like a loan or similar done, and she asks a question about how something is done or calculated, she gets the same type of treatment.
