Review of the Oticon OPN 1 hearing aids Susan Baker at Advanced Hearing gave me the opportunity ( free of charge) to demo the newest Oticon OPN (in Ear) hearing aid and to compare it to the Oticon OPN 1 behind the ear aids which I have been wearing for over 2 years. I have been using hearing aids for over 10 years, and have been serviced all of that time by Susan and her fine support team. My findings from this two week comparison are as follows: • I refer to the IN EAR (IE) and the BEHIND the EAR (BE) models • The amplification and noise control is very similar between the IE and BE models. • The electronics appear to be identical. I can even have the BE model in my left ear and the IE model in my right ear, and they communicate back and forth to each other. • The BE has somewhat less feedback with hugs than the IE. Although this could probably be adjusted in programming. • The IE sounds a bit more “tinney” than the BE • The BE comes off easier, especially when pulling your shirt or hat off. I actually lost one a year ago. The IE is well molded to your outer ear and never became dislodged during my 2 week trial. The IE is more secure and safe in this regard. • The BE ear mold penetrates deeper into the ear canal, which helps hearing in some situations. • The BE is more comfortable to wear as there is no large ball of plastic in your ear. Overall I chose to stay with the Behind the EAR (BE) model, but the In Ear (IE) has one big advantage ( safety from being lost) . It is a wonder to have these great hearing aids available. Our parents did not have the benefit of this advanced micro electronic – digital \ audio technology. Thankfully Larry

After wearing over the counter hearing aids for 3 years and actually upgrading to a pair with 2 microphones in each ear which just intensified the problem, I didn't realize how inadequate the hearing aids were until I saw Susan's article on hearing loss and tinnitus and went and talked to her and gave her hearing aids a try. The best way I can say it is:If you are having hearing/tinnitus problems, you owe it to yourself to go talk to Susan and give her hearing aids a try. It won't cost you a thing and Susan's knowledge and professionalism helps immensely with making your decision. You won't be sorry. Dan P. Ft.Collins,Co

Susan is awesome to work with and helped make the transition to wearing hearing aids very smooth. After a few days of wearing them I had an adjustment issue with one hearing aid and Susan took care of it the same day. I'm enjoying amazing hearing now after procrastinating the decision to get help for so long!

Susan provides very professional services with outstanding results. I wish I would have done this sooner. It is surprising how much is missed when your not hearing to your full potential. I would highly recommend getting in early and checked out. The new technology is unbelievable!

My husband's hearings difficulties started many years ago. We were referred to Advanced Hearing in Loveland. When the Loveland office closed we followed to the Fort Collins office. This is when we met Susan Baker and his hearing improved due to Susan's skills. Susan was able to work with his old aids and finally traded them with a used better pair. Recently, our daughter purchased a new set of aids for her father. Susan was as delighted as we were when she placed those new aids on him. The sheer look of surprise and happiness shone in his eyes when he realized what he had been missing. Now the family has to learn to stop answering for him, because now he can hear and answer for himself. Susan has a very clean professional office and the staff is caring and friendly. We continue to see Susan for maintenance. Thank you Susan Baker for the wonder that is you and the knowledge of your craft.
