Rarely, in recent memory, does one find a business that so pleases one that they have to tell others how impressed they are! Such was my experience with "Hearing at Home." With such a thorough knowledge of both modern hearing technology and of human hearing, these folk are to be highly recommended. Inovative "out of the office" ideas and fine personal communication make for significant appreciation for those who are coming to realize that they may not be enjoying the sounds of a heathly life! Lower costs, up-to-date devices, coupled with a persons specific needs, together with such expertise are truly encouraging.

Dr. Michael Combs was excellent and Hearing at Home is a wonderful mobile hearing center. Dr. Combs explained everything to me and my wife, so that not only would we understand, but more importantly, to feel comfortable with this "new normal" we were experiencing. He explained all of the options available to us, he provided a hearing exam, and he was correct, I was more comfortable, because I was at home in my own den. He made calls to Care Credit and did some digging while he was there so that we would have the upmost and could make the most informative decision on hearing aids. Dr. Combs is also VERY, VERY flexible. In so much as we had to change our initial order to fit our budget and I had to call him 3 times, but as he will tell you, he wants YOU to be satisfied with what you are ordering. The fitting was incredible. He explained what everything was and did, he walked through step by step how to install the batteries, how to remove and install the wax guards. He walked through getting the synced with my mobile device AND told me and my wife that if we had any questions after, we could call. He also provides follow up. He called me 2 days or so after to see how they were working. Me and my wife plan to stay in contact with him throughout this process, because as he said in the initial visit, sometimes things come up not at the appointments or fittings but after some time has passed. He is great about being available. I would recommend Hearing at Home to all who need hearing aids or just want to check their hearing.

Mike was awesome. Very patient and did a superb job. Very intelligent and knew how to deal with questions. And having him come to our home was the icing on the cake. Thanks

“I found Jimmy Stewart about 6 years ago, shortly after I arrived in Charlottesville. Jimmy took a very personal interest in improving my hearing experience. Always had time to “tweak” my hearing aid software! Cheerily arriving at my home when requested; utter convenience! What’s more, he stays up-to-date with most recent hearing aid technology development and research into hearing issues. If he doesn’t have an immediate answer, he’s on the phone ☎️ with the technical arm of the manufacturers of the aids to provide the best answer immediately. I’d do it again!” Chuck

My 90 year old mother was very reluctant to consider hearing aids and we were literally shouting at each other to converse. I finally talked her into letting me have someone come to the assisted living facility where she lives to test her hearing. Jimmy came and he was wonderfully patient with her and after testing and finding she had lost most of her hearing ability he fitted her for hearing aids. He returned with the hearing aids and she had some difficulty learning how to put them in so he put up a sign outside her door for the aides to help her. My husband went down to see her and spent an hour or more teaching her how to put them in and now she can put them in and take them out by herself. She now loves them and we aren't shouting at each other any more! Jimmy is really very patient with his clients and I would recommend him to any one.
