If I could give this dealership negative stars, I would.
In June 2017 I went into this dealership, looking for a reliable vehicle, and ended up walking away with a 98' Honda CRV for just over $5200. Allan was the sales representative that I had dealt with, and he seemed nice enough at the time.
When it came time to looking over the documents of the vehicle, it seemed the detailed mechanics report could not be located. Allan assured me that the vehicle was in immaculate condition, and as soon as they found the mechanics report, they would send it directly to me via email. (I have still yet to receive that email lol)
Being a young girl (21), and never having dealt with buying a car from a dealership before, I never thought that they would ever intentionally screw me over. Oh how wrong I was. I whole heartedly believe they saw their opportunity to take advantage of the situation, and sell me a vehicle that not only was absolute garbage, but was down right unsafe!!
Within the first two days of owning it, I began to notice the brakes acting unusual. I then brought it to my mechanic, only to find out they had sold me vehicle with only 20% left on the breaks!! After this though, is where the real nightmare begun.
Come August, (only two months later) my car began acting strange again. I ended up bringing my vehicle in once again to find out my catalytic converter was non-functional. I ended up getting it fixed and the next day began driving across Vancouver island. (From Tofino where I live, to the mainland) Only to have it break down about 45 minutes into the drive, in the most dangerous area of the Sutton Pass, completely without cellphone service, being forced to hitchhike the rest of the way to Port Alberni.
I brought the situation to the attention of both Allan & Darryl, who informed me that apparently the warranty they sold me, was only for if I brought my vehicle into their shop, and then only receive slightly cheaper labour costs.
My vehicle was in and out of the shop for over three weeks, replacing the fuel pump, O2 sensor, distributor, the battery, and a few smaller parts. By the end of September I had invested over $2500 into the vehicle on top of the price I purchased it for.
Darryl was nice enough to send me over a small amount of money as a consolation (I believe $300 or $400). But at the end of the day, and the total amount this vehicle cost me, that is not enough to balance it out.
Finally during the first weekend of September last year (2018), while on my way to Victoria, the transmission on my CRV blew, leaving me stranded in Duncan. That was the final straw, and I made the decision to scrap it, once and for all.
So I guess moral of the story is, after just over a year and after spending about $8000, I had nothing. These guys sold me a nightmare of a vehicle that left me in debt, and with still the constant fear that any vehicle I'm driving is going to fall apart.
Please, please, please, DO NOT buy any vehicle from this dealership. Or if you do, get it checked out by your trusted mechanic first.
The last thing I want is for something like this to ever happen to anyone else, ever again. Be careful & be aware. They will try to take advance of you. (especially if you're young and unknowledgeable about the situation)
