Puchased a Honda Generator EU 2000i Companion on January 2/2018. First problem was they sold me a Demo model and I wasn’t aware of this until my first Warranty issue. When I went to get warranty about 2 months later for my Generator as some plastic peice was faulty they did cover this under warranty however since it was not a new model this had to be fixed ( all new models had this recall fixed ) 3 months in, the recoil Rope was freyed ( probably cause it didn’t want to start or keep running from the part that was fixed under the recall) . I called Westside and asked if I could get warranty on the rope they said “NO it’s a wearable part “ I said after 3 months the rope shouldn’t be worn like it is. They told me to contact Honda — after back and forth phone calls from Honda -The Honda rep said they talked to WestSide (Kerri) and she said thats a wearable part and not covered under warranty. Now the Honda Rep would not let me talk to her Supervisor or give me her name. So I tried multiple times to call and talk to Ken or Kerri but no answer and no call backs. So I took my GENERATOR to STEINBACH and it was COVERED UNDER WARRANTY no questions and they gave it a Free oil change as well.. I will never buy Another product from Westside Honda because all they care about is the sale of a product after you buy from them it is no longer their problem. Oh and I still have their DEMO model and paid NEW price for it. Oh and their Customer service is non existent after you leave the store.
