Went to this dealership after breaking down with a brand new sidewinder (13 kms on a brand new one ) we trailered 4 hours to sudbury to ride with our kids and they wouldn’t help us get back on the trails, we went to a competitor in the south end of sudbury and they were more than happy to help us, just a shame that Yamaha wouldn’t do the same. As for the reply it was in your control to help or not to help, the $3 part was on a sled and like u said you could of got it back the next day, (less than 5 minutes to replace)and in your case got reimbursed by Yamaha for warranty including labour, instead we went to the other place and they took if off the floor and even helped us put it back on, customer service is everything these days and backing up your brand (Yamaha) is very important. Snowmobiling season is very short and waiting another day sometimes is the difference between going back home or doing what we love.... riding the trails. I’m only writing this so that hopefully you will change your customer service policy and treat the next customer that breaks down with a Yamaha in the Sudbury area a little different, because it will happen again. Not sure if you ever ride but it’s extremely negative to drive a brand new $22000 snowmobile, break down 13 kms into a trip after trailering 4 hours to get to destination, not to mention the extra Costs of hotels, meals, gas and towing due to a Yamaha mistake.

Brought a Kodiak in for electrical diagnostic - was told I needed a new Stator - cost for part: $430 + 2hrs shop time for a total of $650 AND was also told I needed a new pull cord and coil spring - I had purchased and replaced these EXACT parts myself - BRAND NEW - 1 month ago...when asked why I needed a new pull cord and coil, was given an explanation about having to remove a bolt that was seized (which holds the cover for pull cord assembly - in NO WAY does this affect the pull cord or coil)...anyway, called Royal for a Stator - turns out aftermarket is....get ready...$119.00 + tax...draw your own conclusions...NEVER GOING BACK. - Lack of trust, and EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. UPDATE: brought my bike to a small engine shop on Maley...turns out my stator was fine...bike was in great running condition, just needed to apply some dielectric grease on some connections.
