DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION if you are trying to get a car in a decent amount of time. The average time I wait here (and I rent a car every Monday) is 30 minutes. Go to this Avis instead 3721 North Broadway Street, (north of Waveland Avenue), Chicago, IL 60613. The Avis wait time is 5 minutes or less and are much more friendly and helpful. The staff at this location is unhelpful and it is a disaster every Monday morning. They also gave me a car with bald tires in the middle of a snow storm driving through Illinois, Indiana and Michigan so that was a fun experience.

My experience at this location was good. Very easy in and out process and the employee Pina was so kind. I didn't know this location was here, but I'll be renting from this Hertz in the future.

DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE. We rented a car 4 months ago and Hertz overcharged us $150 over the price agreed. We have claimed to get that money back several times, even going to the local and no solution has been provided. DO NOT TRUST HERTZ!!

Booked a single day rental through Kayak for $105. Picked up Friday morning, returned Friday evening, just after they closed. Tuesday I noticed that my checking account balance was a little low. Turns out they had been charging me $100/day because they thought I hadn’t returned the car. It’s over a week later, and there are still 5 $100 charges on my account. Update: after calling the local office number to find out why they thought I hadn’t returned the car, I was told I would hear back in "a few" days (which I later found out meant 5-7 business days). After "a few" days, I noticed the 5 $100 charges were replaced with one $785 charge. So I called the corporate 800 number and was told they’d look into it and I’d hear from them in 5-7 business days. Still waiting... Final update: 4 phone calls and nearly a month later, the corporate support folks have finally cleaned up the mess this branch made. Although every time I called I was told I would get a phone call or email within 5-7 business days (which never happened), persistently calling every 7 business days got the excess $680 returned to me (or at least it will be in, you guessed it, 5-7 business days). However, they are not covering the NSF fees I accrued while Hertz was wrongfully holding nearly $700 of my money. So my rating remains 1-star. If I could be more nuanced, I'd give Hertz corporate a 3-star rating since the issue was EVENTUALLY resolved. But my rating for this branch would be zero stars if that were allowed. By the time the money was finally returned, I had accumulated $180 in bank fees–more than the cost of the rental!–because this location didn't provide clear after-hours return instructions and then didn't notice a returned car in one of their 12 parking spots for over a week, until I called about the 5 $100 pending charges.
