I wanted to personally thank the Riverside team for guiding me through the CDL process. Amber, Wayne, and Edwin were amazing in teaching me the finer points of obtaining my CDL. I would recommend United Truck Driving School for those who are serious in becoming a truck driver.

After researching half a dozen different truck driving schools in the IE area, I finally settled with United Truck Driving School. With an accredited 160-hour program, it has a curriculum many employers require for employment when you have no truck driving experience. I added a passenger endorsement to my class-A license, bumping it up to a 186 hr class. As a recent graduate, I can honestly say this place is the real deal. They emphasize safety and teach you what you need to know for your DMV exams. They will walk you through the entire process from beginning to end, even bring recruiters in to show you what's out there. There's no "hard sale" where they encourage you to sign up with anyone, but if you want to see some of what's out there, it comes to you. Amber (first 2 weeks)was awesome and made class fun, interesting, and real. You'll hear stories and get an authentic perspective and be prepared for the written exam, pre-trip, and airbrakes. For the driving instruction I had Wayne...he's the real deal. He teaches the basics before making sure you're equipped to handle your driving exam at the DMV, no joke. By the time the month was over, I felt comfortable driving down the road in huge Freightliner with a 48' trailer. Some schools put you in a day truck (no sleeper) with a 25' trailer...that's nonsense and really does you a disservice. Many employers will give you a road test before hire, so you better be able to handle a full-size tractor and trailer with a 10-spd manual transmission. Anyway, a big two-thumbs up for United Truck Driving School in Riverside! I got everything I needed to start my new career.

The classroom time and material are great and taught with detail but the yard time/behind the wheel training and tractor trailers are subpar. The instructors all around are great and knowledgeable, but because of only having 2 road legal tractor trailers and having students from classes before coming back (because they failed) to retrain and taking your behind the wheel time, it limits you to your own training and soon become those students that need to be retrained. Most of your time is wasted waiting for trucks to come back or need to fixed.

Your treated fairly at this school, classrooms are not overcrowded which allows for one on one of needed. Instructors are patient and easy going. I highly recommend this school for all who wish to learn the craft. I want to thank all the staff who worked with me, God bless.
