I have had numerous odd machining jobs done here while working at various companies in my engineering career. Richard is a top notch machinist. If you have hard to make designs or need non-standard materials give CM a call. Technical expertise and application development are also strengths of CM.

I am a quality and manufacturing engineer in the Boston area and have sourced this shop for all my machining needs throughout my career working in new product and sustaining programs. I have worked in robotics, medical device, and high voltage industries; wherever I go I keep Catabrigian's contact info handy to help me accelerate solutions to difficult problems. Whenever I have given Richard a drawing and a tight deadline, he delivers above and beyond helping me stay on schedule. Recently I ran out of product for one of our product lines currently on the market, he went above and beyond again to keep production running and deliveries on time. He even delivered the units himself and reviewed the parts with us during incoming inspection. He is very detail oriented and takes his work seriously.

I am an HVAC contractor and have done business with this shop 6 months ago. We had a customer whose large (40 HP motor) custom industrial exhaust that was only 3 months old implode blowing bearings and the shaft and taking out part of the motor mount. Unfortunately the manufacturer quoted over three-four weeks for replacement. The customer needed this unit up and running ASAP and that timeframe was unacceptable. We were referred to Cantabrigian by another customer who's manufacturing equipment was prototyped by Richard and this shop. He took a look at the original equipment and set up and able to determine that the bearings were undersized for the.loada involved. Richard got us new pillow block bearings and manufactured new mounts, new shaft, as well as repairing the motor mount all within a week. Unit ran better than new. Unfortunately I lost Richards card and had to look it up here to find it and saw the previous review and had to say this is now my go to shop for custom work. I just ordered some custom brackets to hold VAV controls and some mounts for mounting the zone dampers as they are not standard and in awkward positions on our new job. Ordering was no problem and I will have them in the timeframe I requested. I can confirm there was no "Fat Man" at the shop.

I still think about this place, wondering how some people can be so rude for no reason. I had high hopes for them. Their website makes some gestures toward being a good community member, and living down the street from this place, I considered us members of the same community. I came in wanting to get something welded. The workers were fairly nice and answered my questions quickly, but then the fat guy who was apparently the boss came out. Instead of greeting me with anything friendly, he just looked at me while pointing at the door and said something to the effect of "f$#@ no." I was shocked, frozen in place for a second. As I collected myself, he had the further gall to ask me how I was able to get inside their establishment (although I was there within their normal business hours and their door was open). I was dumbfounded. I can understand them not wanting to pick up a job, but with management lacking social skills on this level I don't know how they stay in business.
