I hired Ridgeview Irrigation mostly because of the scare of having unsafe water entering my household water if not done properly as they informed me. I was requested to leave a very high deposit a month before the start date. This start date was changed by them only a few days before the job was scheduled to begin and the crew arrived an hour late on scheduled day 2. The work was done very quickly with in two days my old lawn had been ripped off and new soil was placed. On the third day a separate employee came to flatten soil and spread lawn seed. The seeds however were not carefully spread and I am now picking grass out of my then existing flower beds. The next day I noticed the sprinklers were causing so much build up of water in the middle of my lawn that a small pond was beginning to form. However, the edges of my lawn were so dry the seeds were dying and ants were burrowing wholes in several areas. I left a message for Ridgeview to com and correct the problem but they did not return until three days later. By then tiny mushrooms were popping up all over my lawn (except the edges) due to the excess water. When they finally returned, their way of rectifying the excess water was by re-programing a very difficult computerized system to water less times per day and for less amount of watering time. And they did not re-adjust the sprinkler heads. This was also when I noticed an area at the very far edge of the property and down a hill was not receiving any water. I asked them to install one more sprinkler head to stop the area from turning to mud when I would later need to be running a wheel barrow over. A week went by and no one from ridge view came to monitor the system and I was noticing small patches of fine red blades of grass popping up in a few areas on my lawn. I called the owner and his advice to me was to go to a garden center and ask them to tell me what it was. My first thought was, "he was supposed to be the lawn expert wasn't he?" Well the garden center informed me thatthe red grass was a fungus called RED THREAD and was caused by over watering! I was now furious. I had paid Ridgeview Irrigation thousands of dollars to create a new beautiful weed free level lawn. It was definitely weed free but it was all turning red. So I sent them yet another message to come back and rectify the lawn, and how they should have been monitoring the system properly because of the amount of money I paid them. They did return, the very tall and large owner and one of his tall and large employees who were clearly very agitated and proceeded to yell at me that it was my fault because I was requesting more and more and more water. The owner stood on one side of me and the employee was on the other. Iam a 5'6" 54 year old woman and i was actually fearing for my safety. So I quickly thought on my feet and diffused the situation by calmly reminding them of my complaints. The tension in both men relaxed, but I do not want either of them to set foot on my property again. I decided to phone the company who made the computerized watering system and a very wonderful person on the phone ran me through the running process of the computer. This was when the woman on the other side of the phone told me my device was faulty and I needed a replacement. This whole situation could have been solved if only Ridgeview Irrigation had been checking on the system as they should have been. I do not recommend this company to anyone.
