From the point of first contact Chris was incredibly professional and engaged with this job using his vast experience to provide fantastic solutions and designing what became a totally beautiful garden. Our endless questions were answered efficiently and all of our proposals were either incorporated seamlessly or great alternatives offered. We were also extremely happy with the installation. The guys were patient, friendly and very reliable. Always on time, worked hard and very skillfully turned our garden into the oasis it now is! Chris was always present to supervise and provide opinions / follow ups making us feel very comfortable with the way the job was executed. All in all we are so incredibly happy with the result and so grateful we chose Harrington Porter. They really couldn’t have done a better job. Thank you!!

From the outset, all dealings with Harrington Porter were professional, easy and transparent. Of the four quotes we had, they were the only team to listen to what we wanted and as such came back with a competitive price and simple proposal, which was exactly what we were looking for. The team, Michal and Marek, who undertook the work, were exemplary; incredibly hard working in all weathers, always leaving the site tidy, keeping me updated of progress from suppliers, really polite, (very kind to our inquisitive toddler!) and punctual throughout. I have had no hesitation in recommending the team to more than one friend already and we're thrilled with the result. Many thanks!

Great gardeners well recommended

Aug 15, 2016
This contractor is working on the garden adjacent to our property at the moment. In the course of the works next door our neighbours (whom we get on very well with) have replaced the fence. We agreed the type of fencing and all was fine. However this contractor then decided, without our permission, to trespass onto our property and use our decking at the back of our garden to build the fence. For two days there were contractors all over the decking with the fence panels, their work boots, and several power tools including a circular saw. At no point had we agreed the contractor would be in our garden, let alone using our decking as a work-bench to make the fence. I took photographs of them working on it and complained to our neighbours, who immediately agreed to make good the mess they had left. They also confirmed that the contractor should not have been in our garden or on our decking. The damage included mud all over 50% of the decking and several nicks and scratches out of the paintwork (which had only been repainted in April this year). They washed down the decking (after chasing from me) with a power washer, and on Friday Mr Porter arrived to collect the keys so the top of the decking could be touched up, or so I thought (my builder had confirmed it had been treated with Ronseal and supplied the model of the paint to them). I tried to show him where the marks were but he proceeded to make a forensic investigation of the wood (including parts that I was not asking to be touched up and had nothing to do with the matter in hand, such as the plank of wood that our cats use to run up to the top of the back wall) and then concluded that my builder had not painted it correctly and that this had nothing to do with them being on it. I was shocked at his response and behaviour and I had to tell him that I did not want him on my property, as his attitude was clearly that he did not want to make the repairs and instead would rather criticise me and my builder. Bearing in mind that the contractor was 100% in the wrong, having entered my property illegally and then caused damage, I am astonished at this unprofessional behaviour. I would think twice before taking on this company as their working practises appear to be of a very poor standard.
