I had a nail appointment with Jessie L for a manicure and I was not satisfied with the service they provided me. I felt that the nail service I paid for was rushed. It was towards the end of my nail appointment that left a sour taste in my mouth regarding my overall experience at Joyride. My nails were drying after putting on top coat and Jessie said, "bye" to me even though I was still there waiting for my nails to dry. I felt that it was unprofessional for the employee, Jessie, to leave their customer before the customer left the salon. After 5 minutes of waiting by myself to let my nails dry, I asked the employee at the front desk where Jessie went. They informed me that Jessie finished their shift and left. I felt frustrated because I viewed Jessie's actions as unprofessional, not thorough, and not customer-service like to leave their customer while they are still at the salon. Jessie did not even inform me how long I should wait until my nails would be dried. Overall, I felt like my nail appointment was rushed and did not meet my expectations for how a nail salon appointment should look and feel like. I was not impressed with Jessie leaving before I did as I was not finished my appointment yet. Jessie's actions demonstrated that they valued leaving from work on time than to make the customer feel valued and welcomed.

*****Don’t come here unless you want your appointment cancelled last minute***** I had a scheduled appointment for a manicure at 9am. I arrived at my appointment at 9am and was told that the individual doing my service is not in yet. I was seated at a table, picked out a colour, and waited ten minutes. During this ten minutes, the other technician was making multiple phone calls. I was then told that my manicurist would not be coming in today due to illness and that I would have to reschedule for another day. I drove 45 minutes from Surrey to attend the appointment and paid for parking. I understand that in our current times, people should not be out in public if they are not feeling well, however it would have been nice to be informed prior to my scheduled appointment time that my service would be cancelled as opposed to 10 minutes after my appointment was supposed to have started. When I expressed my grievance to the salon, I was told that the technician doing my service had called in sick at 8:40 (meaning they waited 30 minutes before informing me of the cancelled appointment) When I expressed my grievance to the owner, Irina, she explained that the salon didn’t open until 9am and the “receptionist did her best” so that’s why I wasn’t told prior to 9am. When I asked why I wasn’t informed when I arrived at 9am and had to wait until 9:10a to have my appointment cancelled and why the reception didn’t contact me until 9:40am, she explained that the reception wasn’t scheduled to come in until later that day and it wouldn’t have made sense for the receptionist to come in earlier. She also belittled that extra 10 minutes I had to wait. She continued to explain that in their industry things are done differently, that’s how things are, and that this situation was beyond their control. The owner offered me 20% my next service along with a complimentary add-on but I continually explained that 20% off does not cover the gas and parking I paid to attend the first appointment. The owner told me that’s the best she can do. The owner verbally told me she understood, however her actions and words conveyed a different message. I definitely left feeling treated unfairly, uncared for as a client, and unheard. My first and last time there for sure.

I've been coming here for about a year and most of the time I've had great experiences but today was awful. I was booked for a Maia manicure with gel polish removal which should take less than an hour. However, the technician was new and the treatment took more than 1.5 hours. Halfway in, the receptionist asked me if "I had anywhere to go/in a rush?" and that the treatment should be done in about 15mins. It took at least another 30mins. At this point, I was very frustrated but assumed that the technician was new and didn't want to fluster her more than she already was. When I went to the counter to pay, the receptionist just gave me the cc machine to pay, she didn't ask me how my appointment went which is typically what the do. After I brought up the fact that it I was unhappy with my service today, she then apologized and mentioned that there was a miscommunication between the technician as she thought was doing the full manicure (which also shouldn't take 1.5 hours). I found this very confusing because why wasn't this mentioned throughout the 1.5 hours that I was sitting there for? And only brought up when I brought it up? Considering I've been coming here for a year, I would assume that they would have tried to mention this to me at some point during my appointment or at least attempt to compensate me for the inconvenience. But instead she just brushed me off, so I asked for the manager. Once I explained the situation to the manager, she just kept making excuses for the miscommunication but eventually did offer compensation. I am very disappointed that I had to be the one to bring up my terrible experience especially when the receptionist already knew I was having terrible time halfway through knowing that it was talking double the time. I wish she or the manager would have apologized on her own instead of doing it after I had to bring it up considering joyride prides themselves on customer service. I was also in pain due to the fact that I had to twist my back for the entire appointment on the coaches. I was looking forward to a relaxing experience and the opposite happened.

I"ve been to JoyRide a few times and it's always great. Clean, nice people and a relaxing environment. You can easily book online and you get a great manicure, pedicure etc.
