Entered into a 'design only' agreement with Aquarian in September 2019. I paid a little over $10,000. We discussed the budget and proceeded. A little over a year later the estimate arrived and it was almost twice what we had originally discussed. There were lots of problems after this. Reviewing the estimate, I saw the cost for new cabinets was around $52k. I asked them to get a competitive quotation and they refused. The construction drawings had dimension errors on them, sent an email and asked them to correct it, no response. These were right off the RPR supplied a year earlier. The building permit was rejected by the City because the design did not meet zoning requirements, sent an email and asked Aquarian to fix them, no response. And it went on and on, issues with asbestos removal, blank checks written into the scope of the contract, more issues than I have the space to list them all.
