My daughter referred me to the chamber for ideas for our women’s club monthly meetings. Julie was a tremendous help in providing me with names and contact information for inspiring speakers. She’s very responsive, knowledgeable and helpful.

Freedom Creative Solutions has benefited greatly from our membership with the Winston Salem Chamber of Commerce. This is a dedicated group of individuals and they are always eager to help. Many thanks to Gayle, Haley, Renee, Angela and all the others who work to improve our community and business environment for the small and large businesses that provide jobs and opportunities for our residents.

River Gardens, Lovers Lane, Elizabethton In August of this year we contracted River Gardens to build a water feature/koi pond for us. Their original concept of the feature was great and the basics of setting it up, but when it came to the finish work, it was terrible. Kids could have done better job. Also, they do not stick with their original price, nor do they stand by their word on anything. To solve this problem for themselves, they refuse to ever discuss any of it with you and absolutely will not return your calls and if they see it is you calling, they refuse to even answer the phone. I will just highlight what all went wrong. We were told, we absolutely did not need a filter for our koi pond since we, at their insistence, put a UV filter in our pond. This is totally wrong according to the UV filter instructions and from other professionals we have asked. The UV filter should have been on a pad (not on the dirt/unstable) with a gauge on the top to measure pressure, not done. Pump was too small, we did get that changed out for a bigger one, paying the difference, and find out the pump is still not big enough for the size of our pond. The grout on the rock work was a mess. We have had to dig it out and put more in. After giving us a price, they said they would take off for all that we bought - three truckloads and a trailer load of BIG rock, two skids of smaller rock, block, mortar, underlayment for the pond, fittings, 9 bushes/trees/plants for the landscaping and I could go on. What rock they brought, they said was left over from another job (already paid for). They did not take one penny off the price, instead we had to pay $1,000 more than the 4-$5,000 estimate (said that would be max). I could add more, but this should be sufficient. Would never recommend.

The anchorage chamber of commerce is a great place for networking with fellow business professionals and educational opportunities from the make it monday forums to the young professional group.

Shockingly terrible customer service for an organization that charges a fee for membership. When attempting to obtain information from the office, I was first directed to an email address that does not respond. When I followed up by phone, the woman who answered but refused to give her name hung up on me. This chamber also gives false and misleading information to members about their events. Beware and spend your money elsewhere.

The Campbell Chamber of Commerce feels like Cheers, Where every body knows your name. They have helped me grow my business! Their Ambassadors have been so helpful showing me how to network, that I decided to become an Ambassador myself to pay it forward and help teach other small business owners how to network. Campbell really does have that small town fill in the middle of a large valley, they have an energy all their own that is fresh and inviting.
