You can get a better hair cut anywhere in town. The barbers don't always pay attention to what they are doing. But they will attempt to correct it.

Amazing experience! I was very hesitant to have someone new braid my hair because my last several experiences resulted in hair loss and severely damaged hair (singles braids). My primary concern was the new growth that would undoubtedly show up after a couple of weeks with the braids in. I had noticed that when I would previously braid my hair after a couple of weeks my new hair would begin to break off and ultimately result in small bald spots throughout my head. After speaking with Cynthia and telling her about my concerns she 1) told me exactly what the previous braiders had done wrong 2) how they should properly braid my hair and 3) assured me that I would not have that experience, especially if I took care of my hair while it was in braids (moisturized, oil and occassionally wash it every 2-3 weeks). Well it has been a little over a month and I am thrilled with the results. The braids are still in excellent shape and I'm simply taking them out because of how much my hair has grown or else they could probably stay in for another couple of weeks! I have also had no hair loss and my hair appears to be healthy and strong. I have already scheduled another appointment for March! Hands down, if you want to get your hair braided you should go to Sankofa Braiding. Best Hair braiding in the Bay Area!

Head Designs!!!! I went there for the first time. Sheila is amazing., she cut my hair & also flat ironed my hair. I was so nervous because I have a lot of hair. I'm Puerto Rican & mexican so u could imagine how much hair I have. and Sheila did it like nothing. My hair came out so Beautiful!!!! Thank u so much Sheila. If I were you I would find elsewhere to go and spend your money. While I'm sure there maybe some stylists who work in this location who may very well be talented people the customer service is way under par. It's odd how dismissive a person can be in one breath yet be apologetic in the next. Save insincere vacant apologies, and instead do us all a favor and give extra incentives to those who get it right and promote a culture of warmth and courtesy. Although I'm guessing if I had presented with different needs I would have experienced another side to the crabby sourpuss who made sure to shake her head at me as soon as I walked in and made eye contact. Imagine my surprise as she exclaimed "we're closed at 5." I knew it wasn't yet five and there were TWO silken haired customers waiting...SO?!?!!?? I'm no stranger to supercuts( not this particular location) and just remembered the fact that most stop accepting walk ins 15 minutes before closing... However this wasn't what either crows' present were squawking about and repeating. Neither of them exhibiting behaviors close to professionalism. It takes true skill, talent and TIME to cut my precious coily,kinky hair so I get it. However I guess the two on duty 2/11/2018 aren't interested in professional, clear specific communication. I'll continue to walk by when I visit El Cerrito plaza shopping in Trader Joe's, Ross etc, instead of venturing in, and continue to rock with my barber. I'm sure I'll find the perfect place to dye my fro.

Grace is my favorite person to go to for Asian hair care. I've been seeing her for 4 years now and my hair has never been as healthy as it has been without her!

I went to Connie while I was living in Berkeley. She was great with my natural hair, which sometimes gives stylist trouble....but she had not problem straightening it. People would be amazed when she finished because you couldn't tell I had natural hair. After she finished with my hair. it was always silky smooth :-)
