Since I have a full head of thick, straight hair, and I'm a bit of a slacker when it comes to getting regular haircuts, most stylists struggle to give me even a decent cut. But Lady Dianne is a master, and she always does a perfect job on my hair. Plus, I have it on good authority (my wife) that she is the best at doing color, too!

Glenn DeMattia is the best haircutter I have ever used in San Francisco. The shop is pleasant and the location in Hayes Valley is super hip and convenient. Get a haircut, go shopping, eat, drink or just have fun in Hayes Valley.
My wife also gets fantastic hair coloring and cuts as well. She would never go anywhere else.

No thrills but reliable hairdresser location with several nice stylists (Jenny is very good in my excitement for example). This is not a place to get pampered (some premium SF salons look like mini spas these days and this is not it), but if you're in the market for a decent haircut quickly it's a great option - certainly what I come here for. You can get waitlisted by calling ahead or using the Supercuts app apparently. I just walk in, the wait had never been too dreadful. They keep great hours and are open into part of the evening, which is convenient after work.

Hair Fairies were wonderful. I brought them to do a whole school head check after a week long vacation. They were so compassionate with my students and they even helped to talk to the parents of those students who were found to have nits and live lice. I will definitely use them again!
