On the Ocean

Good usually quiet campground. Starting to fall into some disrapair. In the on site bathrooms.Its avoid family location with play area. Also great for those that like to go on a moderate walk around the falls. Has a few spots to soak in the cool water,that are safe. Others beware and marked as dangerous areas. Long term camp hosts on location have lots of local information.

Beautiful beach front campsites. Toilets didn't smell and there were garbage bins around, although I just kept my garbage in the car. Great spot for exploring the surrounding area - really easy to get to Avatar Grove from here. There was always someone in the office. We didn't book ahead (coming midweek in May) and had no trouble getting a spot. Wifi costs two bucks - fair price, but I made the mistake of walking all the way to the office and then having to walk back to my campsite and come back with a toonie. Only major downside I can see is that it's a bit of a party spot at times. People play music out of their trucks and yell, so don't expect solitude from your neighbours. Not the fault of the owners, just something to be aware of - I will probably go somewhere else next time for more peace and quiet.

Stopped in during off season to inquire about seasonal availability. Owner was friendly and allowed us to look around. Sites seemed quite cramped and dark but will look again in the summer when things are brighter and the season is in full swing.

Plenty of camping sites. Be aware of bears. Beautiful views. Lots of activities.

The best camping one can imagine

Beautiful spot

My family and I had an excellent time! The campground is really beautiful and the workers were always kind. A staff member even lent us his tent when we realized the one we borrowed from a friend was missing the poles! What a generous gesture! We loved our stay, and will come back as soon as we can. Great for kids, close to everything and the sunset views from the cove are unbelievable...

So many biking/hiking trails to get lost on. Kayaking from Tribune to Mushroom beach is a great afternoon as well! Local foods and arts are definitely worth mentioning as well.

The owner is a busy one-man show, who builds and maintains the properties in exceptional condition and manages bookings/ rentals. It is definitely worth the effort of repeated phone calls and emails to stay at one of his properties - remember that the whole reason for wanting to visit Savary is to be on 'Savary time.' And the booking of these properties is an introduction to this very special time zone! Savary is 'off the grid' and a step back in time. Leave your city schedules at the dock and you will fall in love with this island. If not, you will be disappointed.

Fantastic stay! We loved our site with the privacy and green grass. We had electricity that worked great. The showers were clean and inexpensive. The outhouses were well cared for with supplies and even reading material. The owners clearly care about providing what they promise. I would definitely stay there again.

Great place to explore

We arrived with an RV to find that many of the occupants were Canadians who have been coming to the campground for decades. That was a real plus because these folks were kind, warm and welcoming. It was a community of neighbors instead of a campground of strangers. The setting is lovely and the host and staff were great. We want to return.
