Angie - please realize that your critique missed some important facts. Career Horizons provides employment supports for people with a wide range of disabilities including ODSP recipients. There are other supports in the community for non-disabled persons and we link with those agencies regularly to ensure everyone gets help. Please also understand that there are 4 million working age Canadians with disabilities - people with the skills and motivation to make great contributions in their communities. FYI, our clients have found jobs throughout Ontario, so perhaps that addresses your parking lot "theory": Unfortunately, so does the fact that many people with profound disabilities do not drive for physical or financial reasons. For this reason my staff travel on a daily basis throughout Grey-Bruce-Simcoe to assist employees at work. Thanks to all the great employers who have the vision to hire someone who just needs an opportunity to show what they can do!

My experience with IPC has been fantastic. The staff are great to deal with and communicate very clearly. From day one they took the time to learn about me, my goals, and my finances and have been attentive to any changes to keep me and my accounts on track. They aren't afraid to make recommendations for changes to my accounts when they see those changes benefiting me. I've never felt overwhelmed by numbers and they've been great about communicating the ways that are easiest for me. The office is also filled with friendly personalities and it's always a joy to visit.
