I feel hard pressed to rate this company this high. When I first got my policies the agent I had in Ontario made a point to contact me via phone on a regular basis. He reviewed my policies and made suggestions for course corrections along the way. Since coming to Nanaimo the service has been terrible and advice worse. Not impressed.

I moved north. However, when I was later leaving nursing, I went through a financial crisis. I contacted their office explaining the situation and asked what my options were. I was told I had one month's grace on payments. When their company withdrew the payment anyways, from my thinly spread bank account, it created a domino effect on the bills that were meant to be covered by the funds therein. The result was an enormous cascade of bank fees at the worst possible time. I then contacted their office again in order to cancel automatic withdrawals, which was done. After a merry-go-round of emails back and forth with the receptionist, and unanswered emails to the company, I was then told I would have to pay for the whole year in one lump sum; during the midst of a financial crisis that they had made much worse. During all of this time, I never once got to speak to my broker, Mr. Irvine. And all of this raised an extremely concerning question: If they treated the person that gives them money in such an unaccountable way, how would they treat my beneficiary to whom they were being trusted to give money after I am gone? I cancelled my contract due to lack of trust. I have long since recovered from that crisis, but have had no interest in renewing a contract with this company, nor could I recommend this business.
