I am a 67 year old retired guy. I started playing golf again about 5 years ago, after a 15 year hiatus. Today I finally broke 80, shooting an 8-under 79 at Bonita Golf Course, something I was unsure I would ever achieve. Justin Hicks' instruction over the past few years is how I finally reached this goal. When I first went to Justin I was stuck in the 90s and floundering. He took me in directions I wasn't always sure I could go, but I knew I wasn't going to improve doing the same things I'd been doing. I chose Justin in part because he is routinely rated as one of the best teaching pros in California. I sure agree with that. He has a great eye for swing faults and always has cures that work and are within my abilities. And if that's not enough, he is also a truly descent, nice guy. If you are looking for a great golf instructor in San Diego, go see Justin. Your money will be far better spent than buying that new driver or putter you hope will make all the difference. They won't. Justin will.

Jay is a machine! This guy can analyze you, your swings, your mentality and help you breakdown the intention and physical mechanics of golf to help adjust how you think about and play the game. I came to Jay with specific requests on my irons and driver, he accommodated me and help take 20+ strokes off my next game, but just like an overweight person hitting the gym I saw good results right away. Rather than ask him for specific lessons I should have let him show me his system. After just 3 lessons in the system (not including my specific requests) I now know what my set up should be, how I should connect with the ball and what sequence to do it in. Jay was able to break down my body movements into easy to understand and relatable pieces that I could focus on and modify to have tremendous results. I tell folks now after working with Jay that I used to spend average $110 per month (1 range bucket per week, and 1 game per month) thousands of dollars over the last few years practicing the wrong things, when I could have invested a little bit of time and money with Jay in the beginning to know what to practice and how. Honestly my game is much more enjoyable, I am breaking sub 100 scores and I now know if I hit a miss shot why and how to adjust myself. The time and lessons with Jay are invaluable and I just wish I knew him earlier!
