Trevor and dave are amazing lawyers !!

My wife and I found Scott McMichael to be very unprofessional and it was obvious he didn't know what he was doing but he was more than happy to charge us over $500 for printing out some papers (at the last minute), skimming over them while sitting next to us (instead of reading them before we arrived as any professional should do) and stamping them. We made an appointment which should've taken no more than 30 minutes but ended up waiting for over half an hour while he and his assistant frantically tried to get the paperwork in order and they not once offered me or my wife a glass of water, coffee, nothing! Due to his lack of familiarity with provincial mortgage laws, we now have to fix his mistakes. His office is right next to the Peterborough Probation and Parole office so, unless you or a loved one need some legal advice in regards to a crime, we don't recommend using McMichael Davidson!!!

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I hope to never need them again but if something ever happens than I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. When I first contacted Gowland Boriss I was very apprehensive because I felt helpless. Within a very short period of time David reassured me that I had the potential to be successful with my suit but that it would be a long process. David was very forthcoming about my chances, what to expect and what not to expect. He advised me to bunker down and hold on because it wasn’t going to be something that happened overnight. He explained that I would be denied at first for my CCP disability claim but that we’d file an appeal that could take as long as two years to resolve. Everything happened just the way he explained it except CPP settled 16 months sooner than I thought they would. Maggie who helped with the claim was unbelievable. With her efforts I received retroactive pay and an apology for not approving me in the first place. The best thing about working with the firm was their availability. I could call any day and I didn’t have to wait days for a return call. They were very good about calling back, usually the same day. If I had questions and needed an appointment to see David they’d accommodate me very quickly. They made a difficult process very easy. It was just effortless and there wasn’t a lot of stress involved. I had a suit with the dealership which was responsible for the accident. Then I had my CPP disability claim and also had to fight my employer to get my LTD. They went to bat for me on all three occasions and were successful each time. I suffer from chronic migraines and will have them for the rest of my life. I wasn’t getting anywhere with the dealership as they were hiding things from my insurance company and the police. I decided then and there that I wasn’t going to let them walk all over me and that’s why I hired David. I needed to protect myself and my family because I was the major breadwinner. I'm glad I decided to hire Gowland Boriss.

Fantastic lawyer!

So after collecting our $3000.00 retainer and taking our case Mr Semple shows up to court one day. Using the paperwork I filed prior to retaining him. He overcharges us $1600. 00 for an hr in court plus travel costs. Then we spend endless emails and voicemails wasting time trying to take our case to next level for Mr Semple to claim now he's not sure he can represent us?! What a waste of our hard earned money. A constant disappointment. I believe he's out for the quick money. Court is stressful enough. Save yourself the extra headache and hire someone who actually cares to see u get what you want. I'd have not put a star at all if google didn't make you atleast put one. I'm appalled that there is no one to monitor these lawyers. We work hard for our money and there's nothing worse then misrepresentation of a lawyers willingness to fight Ur case. On top of the lack of interest it's a bigger headache to get back the money we have remaining with him! What a complete disaster. Enough to make us represent ourselves!

Yeh! A logical lawyer who is very conscientious of his billing. Quick thinking, listens well, comes back with direct comments and did I mention HONEST billing!? I'm left with a feeling "value has been added" after work is done.
