Very friendly and helpful

I was charged $350 per hour, which is fine if I am paying for the lawyer's, Alan Freckelton, expertise. However, I was charged for things like, correcting his own mistakes (filed a form with the court that had nothing to do with me and it had to be refiled), preparing my invoice LOL Some charges were laughable if I was not having to pay for it! Know another profession that charges you for doing up your bill?!? Unbelievable! When I voiced my concerns I was ignored.

Needing a lawyer is almost invariably a stressful experience. At Burnside Law, I found the staff quite friendly, welcoming and sincere. I have had negative experiences with lawyers in the past, but the lawyer I dealt with, Derek Brett, was very personable and immediately put me at ease. He is an honest man who seems to genuinely care about his clients. I was impressed by his wealth of knowledge in many areas of the law. I could tell with Derek that I was in very good hands, and there was no doubt in my mind of his commitment to working diligently for me to ensure the best possible outcome. He is obviously not a lawyer who entered the profession out of self-interest. He is a passionate advocate who embodies a strong, lifelong commitment to justice. I wish all lawyers were like Derek, he truly is one in a million. I would recommend Derek Brett to anyone in need of legal assistance and I wish I had met him before, when I needed help in the past. His rates are very reasonable, too. You will get more than your money's worth with Derek.
