My children (ages 8 & 10) took classes here for almost 2 years. As their taekwondo skills increased, so did their self-confidence. My incredibly shy daughter started talking much more, engaging adults and family members she never would have. My sons would come home grinning ear to ear when they succeeded more than they thought they could. Such great positive changes. I can never thank Mr. Duczman enough for the part he and ATA have played in the development of my children. I (Jenny Stanek) have also taken classes here for the last 2 years. It has been nothing but a wonderful experience from day one. I was a stay-at-home Mom for 8 years and this was the first thing I truly did for myself. I didn't ever believe I could do the things I am now doing. Not only have I found a great new passion in my life, but the sense of comraderie and family is more than you could ever ask for.

The FMA Academy is a martial arts school that focuses on teaching the fighting methods of the Filipino Martial Arts. They teach two classes. The first being empty handed 'dirty' boxing. It has a strong foundation of basic boxing skills mixed with elbows, eye gouges, low line kicks, joint locks, and a bunch of other techniques that target the more sensitive areas of an opponent. The second class is there Kali class. Teaching the stick fighting/weapons training. Quite literally, day one that I walked in the door they put a pair of sticks in my hands. It was so much fun!

My children have been enrolled at Cole's since January 2015. The whole experience has been tremendous. Joe and Allen Cole are very knowledgeable, patient and focused on their student's development. The students range from very young to adult. The dojang is clean and comfortable. I highly recommend Coles to anyone interested in pursuing martial arts.

Wonderful location! Quiet and in the corner. Dojo looks nice and roomy. I highly recommend.

As a long-time student at the Karate Institute, here are some of the reasons I feel anyone interested in the Martial Arts should check the school out: 1. Knowledgeable Teachers: classes are taught by teachers who not only are proficient marital arts practitioners, but know how to teach and motivate students in class. 2. Diverse Student Set: Classes are lively with a great group of people which is the best environment to improve your skills. 3. Well-Rounded Classes: The school teaches self-defense, sparring, kata, and even weapons. Specialty skills are periodically incorporated into regular classes so things don't get stale- with efforts made to not forget the basics. 4. Longevity: So many martial arts schools are here today and gone tomorrow. The Karate Institute has been around for over 25 years and continues to grow. That length of experience comes out in the way the school handles class and conducts its business. 5. Lessons Taught Beyond Punching and Kicking: The school emphasizes basic philosophies that apply to your daily life outside the dojo- it's part of what I feel makes taking classes at the a dojo such as the Karate Institute more beneficial than some other sports. And it's fun! I could keep going on, but I would encourage people interested in the martial arts to check out the Karate Institute to see for yourself.

My son and I have been training at CNY Karate for about two years. The school was recommended to me by an instructor at another school, who previously was a student at CNY Karate. The teachers are top notch and genuinely care about the students' understanding. They are very welcoming to new students and are supportive, regardless of the student's skill level. I've found that you get out of karate what you put into it. If you are diligent, there is much to learn and this is an excellent school to learn from. I highly recommend CNY Karate.
