Great little visitor center modeled after an old train station. This center is located in the heart of the historic district along the Snohomish River.
There is a large selection of maps, brochures and pamphlets for local, county and Pacific Northwest attractions and events.
There is a small display of historical items and information.
The center is open 7 days a week and staffed by volunteers.
There is wheel chair accessable parking, access and restrooms.
Glass Beach
2533 Beacon Ave W, Sidney, British Columbia, V8L 1Y2, Canada
Took my 3-year- old grandson here for a picnic and walk on the Pier yesterday. He's always looking for "treasures" and we found many white glass treasures on this beach. Didn't know this was called Glass Beach until it came up on my phone that we had visited there and I've lived in the Sidney areas for many years.
Mineral World and the Scratch Patch
9808 Seaport Pl, Sidney, British Columbia, V8L 4X3, Canada
I googled family activities in the Victoria area and came across the scratch patch and mineral world website where we were promised an opportunity to pan for gold, fill reasonably priced bags with gems and shells, and browse through a large earth science interpretive center. However, this business has since moved locations, gotten rid of the gold panning center, and increased the prices of the gem and shell bags. It was quite disappointing, it would have been better had the website accurately represented the business and I not promised a child we would pan for gold.

BC Whale Tours Victoria
1234 Wharf St, Victoria, British Columbia, V8W 3H9, Canada
Awesome tour! Great customer service and
our captain was very knowledgeable about the whales and the area. We saw two humpbacks, a pod of orcas, a bald eagle and a bunch of sea lions and seals. The tour took about 3.5 hours and most of it was action packed. The boat was quite comfortable.

What a great way to spend an hour and a half! My party and I had a wonderful time, with the exhibits captivating us deeply while at the same time giving us lots of insight on world history (particularly Canada's beginnings and the major world wars) that kept us quite intrigued. They gave us a discount since we were a group of six (we paid $96 total so about $16 per person), and for the price we paid, we sure squeezed out a hell of a good time to the very last drop!
