We recently spent the day in Corner Brook had a FANTASTIC visit to Margaret Bowater park. First off, it was an incredible summer and sunny day (about 27 degrees Celsius). I grew up in Corner Brook but had it been back to this park in many years. I was delighted to see the fantastic landscaping and concession stand as well as changing/washroom. The concession stand had a multitude of items from fries to hotdogs to burgers as well as drinks and cold treats. The swimming area is set up great and there is a life guard on duty from 12pm to 8pm. There is a kiddies swimming area and the general area... Ladders or steps I to the water. One thing, this water is COLD. It's a steady flowing river that comes from higher elevations and is very old even in the hot days of summer... Refreshing! Through the tunnel (under the road) there is a great playground for the younger kids. Lots of seating around and picnic tables. Parking on both sides but not a lot on the playground side. Also, a great trail that you can connect both sides (just google corner brook trails). Highly recommend this area and will definitely be back to enjoy it.
