We would highly recommend having your wedding at the beautiful venue La Cite Francophone. At first we were somewhat leary based on some of the reviews we had seen about La Cite Francophone as a wedding venue, however, we were totally blown away by how friendly, helpful, and how genuinely concerned the coordinators and caterers were with helping us have the best possible wedding. We ended up having a wedding which WAS EVEN BETTER THAN WE EXPECTED, and a big big part of that was because we had it at La Cite We know our guests enjoyed the wedding based on the number of compliments on both the wedding and the food. PRICE: The price was on par with several community/cultural halls around the city. With La Cite, you have a beautiful venue set in a quiet neighborhood that opens up to a large glass wall with the sun streaming in during your evening reception. The ability to have the ceremony in the rotunda or courtyard for only an extra $75 was a huge bonus for us, allowing us to keep the entire event from ceremony to photos in the beautiful courtyard to reception in one venue. Not having to run around the city (and have your guests run around too) allowed us to save money and made the choice to use La Cite easy. AESTHETICS: The courtyard is beautifully decorated with flowers and Cafe Bicyclettes outdoor patio. An excellent spot to have your outdoor ceremony and to take photos. As mentioned before the reception rooms open up to the high glass walls letting all the natural light in. If it rains, you can have your ceremony inside the brightly lit rotunda. COORDINATION WITH STAFF AND CONTRACT DETAILS: We made sure to keep in close communication with the coordinators and to ensure that we had all our deliverables to La Cite as early as possible. The staff were very flexible and worked with us. Other reviewers seemed to have some issues with payment, booking and food etc. however reading those reviews more closely, I suspect that they were likely not communicating their needs to the venue. It also sounded like they hadn’t even paid the venue the week of their wedding, when it is quite clear that payment is due two weeks prior (10 business days to be exact). The contract was very clear in what is included and what is not included and we made sure to get our guest numbers, and meal selections into them on time. We were even surprised at the flexibility the coordinators allowed us. There were times when Ghislaine was difficult to get a hold of or away, however, Elyse - the events coordinator - stepped in and ensured that everything went smoothly. FOOD / DINING EXPERIENCE: The food was delicious and came out just a few minutes after the scheduled time. Everyone had ample time to get seconds and even thirds. Extra plates were handed out as soon as you needed. Dessert included with the meal is VERY generous. There was a large variety of cakes and squares. The tasting gives you exactly what you will see at your buffet minus desserts, though I’m sure if you asked, they would provide it. In our case, I think they even gave us more varieties of salad than we expected as well as delicious grilled bread). We noted that some guests waited a bit long (maybe 20-30 mins) for their specialty vegan or allergy meals. We pointed out the situation to the staff who were very apologetic. When the meals were received they were enjoyed by our guests and we were happy that the situation was resolved. We booked in 2016 and the menu and prices changed slightly in 2017, they honored all of the 2016 prices, though we had to go with the 2017 menu. Not a big deal as the menu was delicious and still just as good value. OVERALL: 10/10 would recommend!

Went with Jas to decorate the hall for my wedding. Not only did he do exactly what I asked for but he added some extra touches to make everything even more beautiful and gorgeous! This guy is amazing at what he does and he really pays attention to his customers and makes sure to make them happy. And on top of it he's very reasonably priced for a service that wowed everyone at my wedding. Highly recommend him and I will always suggest him for any upcoming weddings of my friends and family.

I had my Wedding here. It has a decent sized kitchen and hall area. We are very happy with our choice. I would recommend this place for anyone having a smaller event. 😊

I had such an incredible experience here. I'm from High Prairie 4 hours away and had family visiting, and they were able to book my an appointment promptly! When I got there, I was helped quickly, and the saleslady I had, Lynne, was just amazing. She took what I wanted in a wedding dress and ran with it, and found the absolutely perfect one. I never once felt rushed, or like she wasn't interested. My experience was perfect, and I am so incredibly happy!!! Lynn's advice was wonderful, and I found her thoughts on dresses to be constructive and thoughtful! She really knows her stuff!

This is a beautiful building. Perfect for community orientated events and organizations. The outdoor gardens, the cafe and library are all lovely. Rooms are available to rent for birthdays, weddings, etc. I love that the city invested in such an important facility to bring community together.

This is a beautiful place. The playground is amazing and safe. Signs on the bathrooms should be placed differently if the doors are left open. LOL I trusted my grandchildren when they let me in and they needed to go so bad that I just ignored the urinals and went into a stall.

The bartenders are amazing! When they didnt have what i wanted they gave us something better. Great time and will definitely go back. Bathrooms were always stocked and clean. Thanks so much to all staff

Shannon went above and beyond for our June 16, 2018 wedding!! We hired her pretty last minute for backdrop and set up/take down. Best decision we made. She saved us so much stress and made our venue look AMAZING! Thank you Shannon!!

When I was planning my wedding, I met Muriel who is in charge of florals through my decorator, who is absolutely amazing (Celebration Creation, Carolyn). Muriel was the kindest and most patient florist I had met. Immediately I knew I wanted her to make my dream wedding come true. Throughout the whole planning process, no matter how many times I changed my mind, Muriel was patient and gave good advice and was just such a joy to be able to work with. She was amazing and when the day finally came, she made my dream wedding come true with the most beautiful flowers I had ever seen. We still get complimented on the floral carpet she and her team made, I couldnt have imagined a better person to be dealing with than Muriel, and my decorator, Carolyn of Celebration Creation. Thank you guys so much for making my dream wedding come true.

We are so glad we hired Faye to be our day of event coordinator. It was so nice to have Faye help us with contacting and coordinating all of our vendors for us and it made the Wedding Day completely stress free. Faye was super prompt with all her email responses 6-8 weeks leading up to the wedding and was super helpful in helping us plan our day and for ensuring the day of the wedding was on schedule. We would highly recommend for every bride and groom to have a wedding planner! If you want a Wedding Planner how is organized, super professional and who is knowledgeable and well connected within the wedding industry, Faye is the person.

I recently held an event for my sisters wedding and everything was so beautifully done! The food was amazing the staff went above and beyond even to the point of occupying my baby for me when no one else was able to! I would definitely recommend booking magnolia for your big day! You will not be disappointed
